Kenwood DPX-301...

Anyone installed one of these puppies yet?
Just placed an order for one this morning. For those of us that don't have the cash flow to support a DVD/NAV unit
, these look like a pretty decent double din option. AUX input, SAT/HD ready, 2 sets of pre-outs, 50w x 4, all for under $200 delivered.E...
Show us those pictures as soon as you get it in. They have a newer and of course more expensive DPX701 that I think would make better sense to me than a dvd/nav unit. keep us up to date.
Good purchase

ya, please post pics asap. i was going to purchase that same unit today. i just want to know if the display and lights can be changed to green to match the ford interior lights. also does it install flush inside the dash. last question is how does the sirius radio work with this kind of hu. i have the sportster now and want to know how songs and artists are displayed.
i would spend the extra money on the 701, but i dont think its out yet.

anybody got this yet?Id like to know about scrolling through the catagorys with this.I have a exact replay and like the features as far as being able to scrooll and look through all the rock or the pop or rap catagorys and was wondering if this would have any off those features?
Crutchfield just made the DPX-501 available yesterday. It should be at my door in a couple of days. According to their customer service rep, the 701 should be available soon, but who knows what that means? I don't really care about a fancier display or the ability to tell me how many G's I'm pulling around a corner. That's all just fluff. The 501 has the main things I wanted... A double-DIN unit, a USB input in the front of the unit, and the ability to play MP3s. Honestly, I think the standard display looks more like a fancy "stock" unit. I don't need wallpaper -- everything I'm looking at is through the windshield or in the rearview! I'll try to post pics when it's installed! I'll see how it sounds with the stock (non-Audiophile) speakers, and then decide what comes next.
Cool. let us know how the install goes. I'm still looking to see how the 301 will fit in my 98. looks like the oval bezel needs to come out, and a custom frame will need to fill the gap because it's slightly smaller then the stock unit. Not quite sure about the casing and if the mount has to be modified.
Sorry fellas - Been away from the board and wasn't following this topic. Here's another topic with a pic of the 301 installed:

That $200 was from a place called ebuyonline.com, or something like that. After investigating in the place a little further, I decided not to go with them. With Crutchfield including the install kit and wiring for no charge, it all balanced out.
