Harley Seats (not concerning leather issues)

I recently test drove the 02 HD and found that the seats are not supportive at all. I have owned a couple of Fords before one being a '90 Mustang GT, and a '92 SHO they both had pretty good bolster support. (I also owned a '98 Dodge Dakota R/T, that truck cannot hold a candle to the HD.) The HD had none, I was sliding all over, and I am not a small guy (6'3, 200 lbs), I usually stay put. I also found an enormous blind spot in the truck with the positioning of the rear view mirror, anyone else have an issue with either of these things?

I find the seats in my 02 HD way more supportive then the seats in my 00 HD where. I am 6’4 and I don’t slide around at all.

As far as blind spot’s goes I don’t have a problem with that either. I put the small mirrors on the side mirrors.

what the...

I seem to always hit the damn seat warmers. I have no idea how this is happening, but on more than a few occasions I'll be cruising around, and all of a sudden, I'm sweating on my backside. Maybe it's just me.

It took a while for me to find the sweet spot on my seat. I had to adjust the seat with the controls to find what was best suited for my seating position. Now, I don't slide around and I get very good side support whenever I make quick turns.

Since you were with the truck for a short time, you may be able to find the sweet spot too after playing a bit with the controls if you had the truck a little longer.

My seat fits like it was made for me.
In all other vehicles i have a 200 mile trip required a small back pillow for comfort and the 2002 HD required nothing on a recent 450 trip to beach
Just my experience

the seats in my 00 HD are really comfortable, but when i was ridin around at the track with cobrasvt last sunday in his 02, i noticed the 02's were even more comfortable! Alot more supportive and hold ya in even better than the 00's seats. Just another improvement over the years, and also maybe the fact that it is 2 years newer than my truck so foam was still alot stiffer, but still more comfortable. I'm sure you'll get used to them and find a position you like. STill not too fond of the gray though

I noticed you mentioned and R/T... They don't have leather seats... Did any of your other vehicles have leather seats?

The leather is going to NATURALLY let you slide around more in the seat... Just the price you pay for leather I guess...

Maybe you could get some Wet Okole's?

I believe Shadow also said the 03 seats are even more supportive. There is definitely a difference between leather and other materials. Also keep in mind the seat and leather will break in a little as you drive it and sit in it some more.

I know my wife's 02 Expy had very firm, uncomfortable seats when we first bought it. I even went back to the dealer and sat in other Expys to see if maybe something was wrong with it but they were all the same. After a month or so they got much more comfortable.

No my R/T did not have leather, those seats were shoddy anyway, springs kept on popping out and they were crap! On the other hand our 99 Honda, my 90 Mustang and 92 SHO had leather seats. I know that you will slide around a bit in leather regardless, but the bolster support of the HD is what I was concerend with when I drove it.

The reason I was concerend is that my fiance' is only 5'3 and she looked like a kid behind the wheel of the truck. She looked like one of those people who take pictures in the oversized furniture. I was looking for more support for her. Any man knows that if the ol' lady is not happy you are not going to get what you want.

I also tend to hit the heater button went enterting the truck. And living in FL i can feel it pretty much right away. I don't have the other problems you explained such as the bolsters or blind spots. I am a happy camper
