um, i'm almost positive one of the wires was yellow, and the other brown. I'll have to take some pics cuz i'm not 100% sure. And also, they may have changed colors since 00 to 02, but i don't see why the would. Hopefully tomorrow i'll have a chance to pull the switch and snap a pic or two.

anyway, what kind of switch did you use? just curious to see pics.

took me about 15 minutes to wire it up and zip tie a switch under the dash hidden.

i'll have to write up a how to on this and submit it, and maybe you can include a few to add on the end for a dash mount switch?

I will try and get some pics of it tonight to post tomorrow. I have to go back and try and get my cluster panel to fit right. Screwed it up somehow and now it is off on the right side. Anyway, I will try and get those tonight

Not to keep beating a dead horse, but I have two questions.

Headlight switch is in auto position, but it is daytime, so the lights are off....are the fogs on?

Also, I have been reading that some of these fog light mods blow fuses, especially when towing, has this happened to anyone?

Thanks a ton

OK, OK, OK. Here are the pics to my fogs. And I was wrong about the wire colors. They are brown (#12) and yellow(#5). Here is the pic of the splice and of the finish product. Don't mind the scratches as those will be touched up soon.........Dremmel got away from me! [IMG]f:\personal\truck\light.jpg[/IMG] [IMG]f:\personal\truck\splice.jpg[/IMG]

Umm you need to upload the pics from your HD into the photo gallery, then from there you can img tag them off.

I personally like being able to flip on the fogs using the stock switch without having to screw around with a seperate switch. And they turn off when you turn off the switch as well. Just my personal preference though. If you're careful, the switch modification is brainless.

$75 changes it back to stock with a new switch (without nicks in the switches wiring).

yeah, 75 bucks i don't have, and all i'll have if i ever take the switch out is 2 little pin ****** in the 2 wires cuz the type of connectors i used. Much cheaper than a whole new switch

I made the mod this morning. Hooked up the #5 and #7 so that the fogs come on when the switch is turned to Auto. I did not put a switch on yet but I left lots of wire so that I can add it any time. The switches they had at the store looked to flimsy. Only took me about 15 Minutes to do the job. Very easy.
