Raced a 1500 GMC Sierra

HAs anyone else done this. Teh guy was telling me it was stock. When we raced though he just blew me away. He pulled about 3 car lengths befor we shut her down. Is this right or did he have some mods. I believe it was a 1500 GMC Sierra. 5.3 L I believe he said.

It all depends. What kind of options did he have? The F-150 HD has a lot more weight than the lightning and any other F-150 out there since it has all those chrome accesories and leather interior. If he had no back seat, cloth interior and other smaller options, he will defintely beat you. But 3 car lengths....I think he had some mods on that.

the last thing I have to say is...HARLEY'S ARENT FOR RACING...THEY ARE BUILT TO BE A CRUISING TRUCK!!

Ya I know there a cruising truck, but still he was pulling hard. I was leaving the track and he was keeping up with some of the older drag cars that were leaving. But he swears it all stock. Ya I understand about all the weight issues and stuff, but he had a pretty big truck and had some **** in the bed. He had no trouble at all. Even when we raced from 50km and up he had me no problem.

Have you had the chance to race one yet?

My friend has a Lightning-Type truck...just the same design with a 5.4L. He got it with manual and put a supercharger with all these crazy mods. He had a dyno test and his best was 631.4 RWHP!! (including his nitrous shot)

Anyways, he races it and he pretty much blows anyone away. After driving his car...my truck feels like a Hyundai

I dont care though cuz I dont like to go fast all the time. He barely goes that fast either. Sometimes we'll cruise along together along with a friend with a Mustang GT. Its gotta be pretty sick seeing a black F-150 Harley Davidson, a Lighting-looking (He has the body kit), and a black GT Mustang flying past you right on each other's asses

Was it a reg cab or ext and was it a flareside or not? My friend has a 2001 GMC Sierra with the 5.3 Liter, reg cab, flareside and mods including K&N filter, Poweraid TB spacer, power pulley's, Hypertech Power Progammer, and Flowmaster's. We race all the time and he always wins due mostly to the power to weight ratio. We went to a 1000 ft. track a few weeks ago and I raced him without the power programmer and he only won by about a truck and a half and I must say his truck has a very quick throttle response. So after saying all that my point is that I don't think this guy was bone stock, there's no way!

the f-150 strong point is its low end, every time i race a new chevy i get the same result. i pull them out of the hole and ususally pull them between 30 to 50 once we reach about 60 the chevy makes its move. after 70 it is all chevy. 3 car lengths or about 3 tenths is about right considering you went from a roll. that is were the 25 h.p. advantage of the chevy comes in.

in my opion the hd f150 is without a doubt the best looking truck on the road - so you got that going for ya,

Taillight covers

Josh,

The GTS taillight covers are smooth. They really tie in the rear end. I took then off however when I got the Lightning brake lights.

Mike

P.S. Hard to see brake and signals through the tail covers, just beggin' for a rearending.

ya, i'd suggest a set of louvres or the those carbon fiber ones in the online store. They look cool.

The only thing tailight covers get you, is pulled over

This morning I lost one off my Headlight covers after going through a car wash (No Touch off course). This is my second pair and the second time I have lost one. Off course it's the same one so now I have two driver side covers.

mschon, you lost 2 headlight covers? sounds kinda hard to do to me
but anyway, i have the gts headlight covers, and i just got the vtech taillight covers in the mail the other day. They have the 3 slots for the bubbles on the taillight to stick out. Just have to paint em.

and yeah, i've gotten a 50 $ ticket for headlight covers on the HD before and it was in the middle of the day

How can they give you a ticket for headlight covers in the middle of the day??? That sounds stupid! Sorry I haven't replied but I haven't been around all weekend so you know. I like the tailight covers but I've been tryin to find some fairly cheap 01 L tails. I like the look of L tails and the covers are kind of scary at night like BlownHarley was sayin. I saw an F-150 the other day that had chrome slotted tailight covers and they looked pretty good. Anyways Harley #356 good luck on painting the slotted covers, were you gonna paint them black?

yeah the slotted covers came in like a flat black, so i'm going to paint them gloss black. I don't keep the headlight covers on all the time since i got that ticket, i just put them on for shows, and when i get it all shiny clean . i'm going to get the slotted headlight corner covers. They will match the taillight covers really nice with the 3 slots on both, and they are legal.
I got the ticket for the headlight covers at a roadblock. That B!tch flagged me in, and gave me a 50$ ticket for the covers, and another 50$ticket cuz i couldn't find my registration. I forgot that it was in the middle console under the cd holder. So that was a 100$ i couldve spent on mods, owell.

Any way, after she wrote up those tickets, SHE GAVE ME A TICKET FOR THE RIMS! she said that they were too big, and they were illegal. I was like WTF, i had to wait there while she called the station, and then they had to call Ford Motor Company, to verify that the rims were stock, and all this BS. i was so p!ssed off. She said she'd let me off this time, and that i don't fool her trying to tell her the rims are stock. Talk about jealous people

Hey Harley#356 what can I say. Bad luck I guess losing two.

That Cop must have been from another planet. I was talking to a cop at a Dary Queen about my Truck about a month ago, just shooting the S*** . It was night time and he never metioned the Headlight Covers once.
