GOOD NEWS from CANADA !(Harley F150 Production Plant Central)
They're shipping my truck next week (June 19-23), and my dealer's given me the VIN for it already. I think there's already some delivered Stateside to dealers there.
I'm savouring that spin down the 400 Hwy!!!

Thumbs up

Our Harley F-150 arrived this morning. It looks good, but doesn't have the Tonneau cover. Also it has 3.55 Limited slip instead of the 3.73 Limited Slip originaly quoted. But it does look and sound good!

Red face

Nathan Bernard, I just saw your note regarding delivery of your Harley F150 with NO tonneau! Is this to follow, or what's the scoop? I was hoping to get the entire package as advertised, but this sounds a little like Chrysler's bait-and-switch they're doing on the PT Cruiser.
Let me know, please!
Regards,
Fred

Question

The cover is not being installed on trucks at this time. If they can make the cover work, they'll start producing trucks with the cover. If they do, they plan on selling to covers to owners for $250 (they knocked $500 off the price of the truck for not having the cover) and having the truck picked up and the cover installed.

Nathan

Picked up my truck this past week-end! It's a FUN ride. Have heard the tonno cover was credited to the dealer's in the amount of $500 and the customer will be able to purchase the cover for about $150, when the vendor get's the paint problem fixed. If you know any thing else, let me know! jmwaste@prairie.lakes.com

THE HARLEY F-150 IS ON TOUGH BEAST.
I WORK T A FORD DEALER AND WE HAVE GOTTON TWO SO FAR. I HAD THE CHANCE TO DRIVE ON LAST WEEK. AND IT IS A TOUGH MACHINE. BLACK ON BLACK WITH LEATHER INTERIOR. THE GAUGES ARE UNIQUE WITH THE HARLEY LOGO ON TOP RIGHT. I SEE ALOT OF PEOPLE WONDERING ABOUT A TONNEAU COVER, THIS WILL JUST COVER UP THE CUSTOM BEDLINER WITH THE HARLEY LOGO THAT COMES STANDARD WITH EVERY TRUCK. YOU NEED TO SEE ONE WHEN YOU HAVE A CHANCE. I THINK THE EXHAUST COULD BE A LITTLE BEEFIER TO MATCH ITS NAMESAKE BUT I GUESS YOU CANT ASK FOR TOO MUCH.

About tonneaus, I think everyone that has this truck wants to cover that custom Harley mat so they continue to be it's owner!
If anyone out there has more info on Ford's plans on this cover, I'd sure like to hear.
Otherwise, I'm likely going to A.R.E. mine.
Thanks.

I just bought one July 2nd and it's turning a few heads. I have been experiencing some bounce and shimmy over bumps on road and highway. Any similar stories? Good looking truck.

Just got mine July 7th. It realy turns heads! Haven't had any shimmy problems but it does run rough when cold. Oh yea, anyone who is still waiting for thiers, when you get it always leave about a half hour early wherever you take it because Everyone stops you and wants to look at it!

Question

Got My Harley a couple weeks ago. Have 1,500 miles now. Didn't like "The No Tonneau Cover"... Also surprised to see it with 3.55's instead of the planned 3.73 gears. It really is a sweet drive but could use more power at freeway speeds. Installed a Superchip, K & N Filter and tinted the windows on the front doors. Today I received a letter from FORD on the paint quality issue on the hard tonneau covers. Ford is attempting to resolve this matter by the week of August 7. If the concern can be corrected, ford will offer an original tonneau cover to the HD owner for $250 installed (plus applicable taxes). In the event that the paint concern cannot be corrected, they will provide a complete update by the week of August 7. Not sure what that means?

Makes me want to write some poetry....

Cool

Got my Harley-Davidson F-150 on June 30th.
Wanted a Lightning but with two kids the extra room is great. Have the CD changer and sliding rear window (don't need block heater in Florida). Already have two awards from local shows. Vehicle is not driven everyday. Plans include a Magnason Performance supercharger kit (kit uses the same Eaton roots-style supercharger used on the Lightning), two inch drop front and rear, and more. If Ford don't supply the Tonneau I will be installing one myself.
