Will 305-45-22 tire fit on the 2010 Harley?
Will 305-45-22 tire fit on the 2010 Harley?
I'm waiting on delivery of my 2010 F150 AWD Harley Davidson edition and was looking to replace the Pirellis with a tire that can run through the Canadian winters. I was originally looking the the Cooper Zeon LTZ until I realized that it came only in a 305-40-22....and I'm concerned about having a bit more sidewall. I know the 305-40-22 will fit with no lifts or levelling and I'll have no rubbing issues. Does anyone know if the 305-45-22 cause me any problems with rubbing?

305/40/22
12" wide
4.8" tall sidewall
31.6" overall height
305/45/22
12" wide
5.4" tall sidewall
32.8" overall height
so you are basically running a 33" tall tire since not all tires even though they are the same size they may actually be a little off. now that means your tire will only be a hair over half an inch closer to the fender
that is wrong, sorry if that offends you but the aspect ratio (the second number) has nothing to do with the width of the tire

I just read on another posting that someone mentioned that the 305s call for a wider wheel than the stock wheel (which I believe is 8.5") and they would wear down the middle quickly if the rims width is smaller than what the tire size calls for.
So if I put on either the 305-45-22 or 305-40-22 am I going to be looking at prematurely wearing out some expensive tires?

Granted yours is a 2010 rim size may be different. I have a little over 1500 miles on them and they haven't shown any irregular wear. I drove from MS to Washington D.C. to NC a week after putting them on. I love them!!! Nitto 420S 305/40/22
