Talking Hot off the Dyno

Well I just got chipped and dyno'd today... A little disappointed cause I wanted to be inducted into the 400/500 club... but I'm almost there... I will post pics of the read-out tomorrow... 376.9 rwhp and 463.1 max torque...

Also, I was wondering if anyone knows of a good place I can go to race my truck near or in Los Angeles?

Next up... an electric fan, electric water pump and a kenne-bell super... maybe even some nitrous... Big ups to Chikenears whom I got most of my mods from, and Swanson performance who dyno tuned my chip...

#'s are a tad bit low for 12psi. You should be in the mid 380's and knocking on the 500 back door with 480-491 tq. Heat was probably a factory for that though.

Where did you dyno at? Come out to Irwindale Speedway this thur. Theres 4-8 Lightnings out there that frequent and about 5-10 HD's show up. Although its only an 1/8th mile, its great for testing mods and practicing reaction time and 60's.

Theres also CA Speedway in Fontana on saturday nights. That place is a zoo and bombarded by ricers. You may not like it there.

Carlsbad is open 10AM on sat mornings. Very few ricers can get to the track Not too crowded.

You can hit up our forum at www.nloc.net/socalloc

We post when we are going to the track and you can hookup with us.

Unhappy Dreaded Check engine light

yep,91...

I was planning on going to irwindale this thursday, but this morning my check engine light just came on, so now I'm not sure if I'm going to make it...

here is an order of events:

2 weeks ago I installed a Factory tech Valve body, and the 4x4 pan, the 6# pully, and an accufab SB throttle body...

4 days ago I had it dyno tuned and chipped... then --

yesterday... I read a post about the TPS voltage, and corrected it to measure .987 from .965... there was no problem til this morning... It actually felt like it was shifting better and ran smother after I adjusted the voltage so I have no clue what could be wrong.

Any advice on getting it resolved would be great, it's going to really suck if I have to pull all my mods off to take it to ford service... er, ford dis-service...

How much do they charge for dyno and tuning?

Can they tune a diablo delta chip?

Are they open on sat?

Dyno time is $125 per hour... I'm not sure if he's open on Sat... and I'm not sure if he can tune diablo chips... but his number is (310) 787-7800 -- he's in torrance... oh, here is his site : http://www.swansonperformance.com

good luck.

BTW, I'd like to know when you go down there if you decide to... interested in seeing what kind of numbers your truck puts out...

Thanks!

Roller, I really like your signature pic. What software did you use? I just went to the dyno today and got some nice numbers myself. HP- 390.4 TQ- 490.5 on 91 octane fuel. May not install the Kenne Bell.
