Lightbulb SAN ANTONIO RALLY "APRILL 2000" ?????

Here we go again, I know we only been back to our homes for 1 day but I figure why not start planning our 2nd Annual TX Rally. Here is my thoughts..If we have it in San Antonio I can pretty mush plan alot of the stuff to keep us busy, alot to see here in SA. Nathan and I have or will have extra bedrooms in our houses also, so some of you could get off cheap. I hear they have a dino machine here in SA someplace, maybe I could get us a special time and rates for Sat morning, and maybe set something up with Alamo raceway for drags.
We can also cruise out to the hill country and to Medina Lake to get some great photos, and Park rd 37 is a winding 14 miles, you lightning and lowered truck guys would get off big time. We could cruise down to the San Antonio Police Officers Park and get some great photos.
If anyone has a better place or ideas floating around in you head, share them here. This is a idea only. Let me know what you think..
If it sounds good let me know...and I will start a list..Lets keep it on one topic though no matter how many millions of pages it gets, its easier than trying to keep up with 3-6 different topics..

PS..If you 4x4 guys want to play too and want to show us some stuff Im sure I can find a location for you guys to play too..I will watch..Also I could POSSIBLY get MAXIMUM OFF ROAD to come out maybe, Im sure they know of some trails..

I was thinking April 21,22 and 23..

Dave

THE MORE THE MERRIER..WE HAD A GREAT TIME AT AUSTIN RALLY 1999..

Hey Whats wrong with Dallas/FtWorth Rally 2000? I think we would have a blast in DFW. Just imagine 12or more Fords pulling into BILLY-BOBS just imagine the news coverage. There is always a radio station or tv station out there. What better advertisement for f150 online? Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock, The Dallas Skyline what great pics. We could run the town. Nothing like the rally ever happens in DFW. Plus we have such an incredible CHevy population I would love to rub US in there poor broken down butts. Plus we have 3 known places to street race. Or we could spend 5$ a piece and race in Kennedale at the raceway quarter mile. I don't know the specs on San Antonio get some info and post it so we can get a head start on Rally 2000. OR WE CAN GET TOGETHER FOR A Y2K FORD RALLY.

Well the only reason I think it would be a good idea is because I could get major sponsoring and I Have two local DJ's that could produce probably 50-60 more trucks at the rally

Thumbs up

I'm all for the Rally in San Antonio Big Dave !!! Let's do it !
I'd be happy to oblige you on one of those "spare bedrooms" ! I see I've got "1st Dibs" from the reply ! I agree on the keeping it to "This Topic" for the posts to keep it easy. I also love the idea of the quarterly rally's in the 4 major Tx. cities. We could do Dallas or Houston next. Maybe Mumbly could help on the Dallas Planning since he's up there ? "mumbly" ???
Had a blast in Austin & I can't wait to do it again ! I like the idea of the "Dyno & the drags plan" ALOT ! You have 1 who will do them both !

Hey, are you gonna "Deputize" us all if we go to the "Policeman's Park" ?

I'll keep checking here at "YOUR" topic for the plan.

C-y'all @ the next one !

For the 4x4 guys, San Antonio might be fun since the National Seashore is only 2 hours away (probably about the same from houston for that matter ..) We could do a day trip and drive at least part of the 63 miles of 4x4-only beach. Friday nights here have test and tune at Alamo dragway so that could be fun as well. Its a great place to bait unsuspecting rice boys and bowties.

SS97Ford _ Love the idea about rotating among various Texas cities. With enough advance notice I would like to plan some family "mini-vacations" around some of the rallys. For anyone who has never been to San Antonio, you're missing a terrific city & surrounding area. DAVENSA count me in - if you need N.E. side help, let me know.

I think that both of the plans presented here thus far sound great. I'm wondering if maybe the SA rally might be done in January and the April one be in Big D. I think I was the one who suggested quartely events, and this idea might be worth a try.

Maybe we can do Houston in May and center it around the FFW at Houston Raceway Park in Baytown (about an hour out from town). I have a couple of extra beds in my house and would be happy to supply shelter and groceries to some of my friends.

I also agree with Davensa, the majority rules and I will be pleased to go with the flow. The gang we had in Austin RULES!

Just a thought (or 2 or 3), not a mandate...

I would def get to a Houston Rally. Only 4.5 hours from me. San Antonio is too far like 8-9 hours each way.

Keep us La guys in mind. MRBBQMAN is in New Orleans And I'm in Baton Rouge so the closer to the border the better

"Only 4.5 hours from me. San Antonio is too far like 8-9 hours each way"

Actually, it is only about 6.5 hours away (4.5 + 2.0). Thats still a lot, but I travel back and forth from SA to Houston pretty frequently and average a little under 2 hours for the trip. If we wind up doing the rotation with SA, Houston, and Dallas you could pick and choose which to attend. I'd suggest saving Dallas for late spring since SA and Houston are more pleasant in the winter months than DFW. (excepting the cold rainy nasty weather this front has brought in).

Another thought: maybe we could do something in LA and fit New Orleans and Lake Charles into the trip. That would be tons of fun.

An excellent idea Nathan. Beaumont or Lake Charles would be any trouble for me. Of course I have to admit that I enjoy the luxury of being fairly well centrally located to all of the places mentioned.

I think our Cajun bretheren would enjoy joining us for a Rally. Maybe they can think up some cool places to run and meet. Caddo Lake may be another place to consider meeting up.

Just some ideas...

Roger,
We would be happy to have you come on down here..Anybody that belongs to the f150online is welcome..even those chevy, dodge and I think we even had a NISSAN owner at the Austin rally. He was treated good, tthough he did seem tired all the time, took lots of naps, think its because his body was used to working on the nissan truck all the time and he had to much down time..his body couldnt take it, it forced him to rest.
It was fun though, talked to the owner of MAXIMUM offroad and he may have a 600 acre ranch that some of the 4x4 guys could play on..Id watch.
But San Antonio is just an idea and we are open to any ideas...so lets here them..Maybe we can get STEVE (webmaster) to come on down too..

Hey guys, well you can count me in for the next one. I like Nathans idea of drivin to the beach, that would be awesome, I'd love to do some off-roading, and I'm sure Dave in Waco would be up for that too.

Can't wait for the next one, the quicker the better I say.

Well Golllllly ! We might get the Custom Truck Guru himself all the way down here from California !!
C'mawn down Rog !
Man, that would really be cool if you can make it! I hope you still have your F-150 at that time so we can all see it in person!
What kind of "Long Distance Award" are you thinkin' about ? You bring that cool truck of yours when it's finished & I'm sure we can come up w/something.
Stuffed Armadillo or Jackelope to display under the tonneau at some shows would sure look nice in the back of your truck ! LOL
Seriously though, keep in touch about coming. We'll have to talk more about that next month in Vegas at the "SEMA" Show !
Yeee Hawww is our Lingo down here when we get to go to something that will be as fun as the SEMA Show ! I promise I won't show up in a 10 gal. hat & chaps though. I'll be the one in the casino wearing the Purple Bathrobe & fuzzy slippers drinking free drinks while the money pours out of the slot machines ! um, er.... or is that "in" the slots ? LOL
