Gotcha. I'm headed out in the field for a week on wednesday and should be able to order them when I get back.

How close are you getting to the 25 limit?

This is some great timing... i'm in

Also, I believe the oven trick doesn't work for the 2009-2011 trucks, they need to be cut open. I'll probably send mine out because of this and use a FX-R projector so that I can use a D2S bulb like my other vehicles use. If I had a 2004-2008 truck I'd use the mini H1 and do it myself without a second thought. Those lights can be opened using the oven trick.

Nothing official yet. Will update when we set up the formal GB

No problem... you can pick whatever kits/lights/bulbs/shrouds you want.

Which are the MH1? I was gonna get the FX-R stage III Complete kit

Redbusa06 07-26-2011 03:52 AM

Its a retrofit. Its a cut and paste job. You can install it on any vehicle. From a 1909 Ford Model T to a John Deere Tractor. As long as it has 12vDC, you can make it fit.

Actually, all OEM lights can be used with the oven set to 260* and varying timing. Ford uses whats called PermaSeal on the headlights. Its very tricky but can be done. It would be easier to use aftermarket headlights, however.

Mini H1s are smaller and use the less common H1 HID bulb. The FX-R is an all around better projector utilizing the more common D2S bulb.

A FX-R will fit just fine in your headlights. Fog lights may require something smaller.

What makes it "very tricky"? I have an IR thermometer, so I can approach, but stay below the acrylic melting point. Will this make it less tricky? I haven't seen any high quality aftermarket headlights.

IIRC 260*, for about 30 minutes. You have to let the heat penetrate the glue
