Both types of covers have their advantages. I have an Extang on my truck and really it's my only option other than no cover. I could spent an eternity putting the hard cover on and off.
Matter of fact I'm looking into a quick release system for the Extang so when it is a planned trip to pick up something large I can just pull the entire frame and cover off, and stick it in the garage.

Yeah, I forgot about "going for a few beers" on my Florida trips. I get razzed about that one too! How about "fudgicle"? Do you still say it our way? You know like, "fuh-jickle". hehehehe

Fuh jikkel. Yep, love em.
Everyone looks at me strange when I asked where I can get a coffee fribble.
I live about 40 minutes from Baltimore, so we spend alot of weekends down at the Inner Harbor... or as I like to refer to it: "the inna habah".

Habibi...The soft cover is definately the way to go if you use your bed alot. The hard cover is slick, but not as practicle. Nothing looks sillier than some guy truckin down the road with the hard cover sticking up because whatever he is hauling is too tall.
You want to see people look at you funny for your accent, do what I did, move from Maine to Georgia!! People down here talk so slow and they never understand me! I tell my friends the reason they talk so slow is because they think so slow. And don't even talk about the Civil War they still get pissed about that down here! But the people are pretty cool I pick on them about the way they talk and they do the same too me. It has been years since I have heard anyone use the the term "Wicked " that is a northern thing for sure. Another one that is used in Maine alot is " coc@er" like that fish was a coc@er or that was a coc@er of a snow storm! And the ever popular "AYUH" Ayuh that snow strom was a coc@er! Well i am moving back to Maine the first week of June and I can't wait, i will miss the nice weather of the south but i love the winter!Put a K in the @.

It's not fair. I want an accent too!
I think it's wierd that here there seems to be no accent (boring), and a short trip down the pike there is an accent.
I think the Maine accent is cool. "Yu cont git thare from heer."
I thought it strange that when I was visiting my sister in NC the news anchors didn't have a southern accent. I kind of expected they would.
Oh, and just for the record, I'm not from the Berkshires!

...a rolltop cover? I had one on my '00 (Retrax) and loved it. The hard top was too much of an impediment to the functionality of a truck (IMO) and the soft tonneau didn't really give me a "warm fuzzy" as far as securing my belongings in the bed on those occasions that necessitated an overnight stay somewhere. With the Retrax, I could open as little (or as much) of the bed up for hauling as needed since it could be locked in any position. On the rare occasion that I needed to haul something that wouldn't fit without the additional 10" or so of bed space occupied by the canister, it could be removed in practically no time (just six clamps held it in place). In fact, I liked it so much, I placed an order for one for my new truck before I even picked the truck up!
