A year ago, my wife's dad was telling me how great Shell gas is, he wouldn't shut up about it.
So I tried it.
I noticed a huge difference.
With Esso, I was getting about 450 klicks per tank of fuel.
Shell V power gives me 475 - 500.
Maybe it's because of the chip? I don't really know why, but I definitly go further on Shell's gas.
Man this is an old thread.

I've tried them all, but I only use my trip odometer to see how many klics I can get off the first quarter tank. Very crude way of measuring, I know, but that's what I've been doing. I 've been collecting Esso points as well, but my Ford dealer is telling me Esso and Petro Can are the two worse! WTF? I know them very well at my dealer. I even hang out in the back with them in the air traffic control tower (as I call it) in the garage when I'm getting work done, and they wouldn't be telling me lies. The one tech even showe d me a couple of different plugs. I'm still not certain that I agree with him about the Esso gas. I hang out with a bunch of guys that have performance cars and frequent the track. Esso has always been known as a better fuel in this circle of people, so I don't know what to believe now. I know my fuel consumption has been bad with Esso since the winter months however, but it really hasn't been all the much better with any other brand either. I don't feel like paying the difference for the V-Power. I collect Air Miles points with Shell via Mastercard and regular air miles card, so I can double dip. I make sure I collect points with whatever company I purchase gas from.

I always take coffee's in for the guys when I go in, and only let 2 guys work on the truck. They know I'm peculiar, but the customer is always right
As far as the gas, give Shell another try.
Take an acurate measurement and I'm sure you will see a difference.
I didn't believe my father in law at first, but the old coot was right.
I'm pretty uptight about regular oil changes (almost monthly) and a new fuel filter every 6 months. When I ordered my truck in 02, the dealer gave me a card entitling me to $15.99 oil changes for as long as I own my truck.
That's why I get it done everytime I drive by the place
I know they can't wait for me to sell the truck, but I plan on keeping it for as long as it will last.

yes.
My truck is chipped, so I have to use premium anyway; I'm not sure what the results would be for a non-chipped vehicle (or if you would see a gain with their 87 octane gas)
You will prob still see a gain, but for 15 cents a liter more, I doubt it will make economic sense.
Is it really that much more? I hardly look at the price, I just pay my $110 to fill and away I go.

Habibi; I'm thinking that premium has been more in the area of $1.19. Heck, regular was $1.06 a few days ago. It's $1.03 now. I believe there's about a .14 - .15 cent difference between premium and regular. I have to run Sunoco 94 in the Mustang due to it's tune, but me thinks it would be a waste in the truck.
It looks like you're paying anywhere from a buck to a buck six in your area, so I bet you're paying closer to $1.15 to $1.20 for premium.
..... and they're calling for $1.50 in the spring.
Either way, I don't worry about it. Regardless, you need to put fuel in the truck. When I need to fill up, I fill up. It's interesting watching the price fluctuations though.
