Beardoge, I guess I don't have to worry about not making it to 12,000 miles, I ride orange and grey! (ZL SS pumpkin) I never have the chance to get my sleds to that mileage anyhow. I usually trade in every 3 years. I average about 4500 miles per sled. I just got rid of a '99 AC ZL600 EFI and it was terrible to see her go! Only problem I had was a leaking upper chain case seal(warranty). Seeing that you are a Polaris guy beardoge, when do you think polaris will wake up and throw a new wishbone susp. up front? Aren't they sick of gettin' eaten up around the corners yet?? Just messin' with ya!

ive thought about it. that red is really nice. seems as of late though that anything new that yamaha comes out with is problem plagued. the 2001 raptor, the 2002 grizzly just to name a few.

Between moving and no snow, within a days drive.............Mine hasn't been off the trailer since I sold my house in Jan. Been so busy, I can't take a week right now to travel. Wife wants a F7 with the patroit PKG, I know it will be too stiff for her liking and am trying to get her onto a Polaris 600 LE [IMG]

oldnew....

Okay I'll give ya that one, I have a feeling Polaris will have A-arms on the fall 2003 sleds maybe only one, there racer special. But come on those trailing arms sure are a good hand hold to lift them on to trucks or dig em out of the snow..... But what about the cats (originally know as catepillars not cats like house cats.) I know quite a few (cat) people that have had major engine problems broken piston skirts, seized engines, crank bearings and most of them are afraid to take there sleds more than a 100 miles from there rooms... And they admit that..
While I absolutely trust my Polaris... And all the previous ones... That really is a nice feeling when your 100 miles from Nome and 20 below... knowing your sled won't break down.. Don't you wish you had that feeling.

Oh Well we have one thing in common I have a 1954 Farmall Super M... That of course has a lot more power than your H!

Cool

Hey otterbob, why did you post a pic of my truck? J/K. Pretty close though.

Sweet sled. I ran over to the dealer when they came in to check out the skid. I liked it A LOT, but the grey pan had me running for the door. It's amazing that sled is so new and advanced, but it's the old junk now. And now i'm ride'n the old old junk. LOL.

Beardoge, i've got to hand it to you for being on a tripple (heavyweight) this long. What will you be doing for a new one, twin or trip? Tried any coffee can twins?

The 800's are a rush in the woods! But we all know A/C rules the twisty wooded trails. LOL

Well being that Polaris doesn't hardly make a triple anymore I guess It will be a twin... If I waited for this sled to wear out I might never buy a new one LOL... I will probably buy a new sled this fall there is alot of left over sleds from the crappy winter. The XC I currently ride I only paid $4100. for so I am sure I will buy a leftover again...
The dealer I bought the XC from bought a dealership out in New York that went bankrupt. So I am sure alot of small dealerships will be out of bussiness again this summer. Sucks but thats the way it works.........

F7

I just took a look at the new F7 on A/C's website. It looks hot but does anyone know how this thing actually handles? I had my heart set on the ZR600efi but now I can't stop thinking about this F7. I read that it has a narrower track. Is that a really good idea, though? It seems that it would be more prone to losing traction when you really need it, especially with the 700. And please, no flaming the A/C here. Trying to be a little serious.

Well, I was going to get either an artic cat zr-6-800 or a polaris xc-6-800 this winter, but the weather was terrible, So hopefully I'll have one by next winter.

Check out this review of the F5

http://www.robertlyonsphotography.co...ng/firecat.htm

Also, here's a place to post messages about sleds.

http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/cg...fff;act=SC;c=1

Can anyone tell me how to make a web link clickable without the whole URL showing and putting text i.e. "click here" in its place. TIA

I've been riding for 3 seasons; wish I would've got into this sport sooner. But, it is damn expensive!

I've snowmobiled forever! Current list of sleds are

-1972 ski-doo Nordic 640ER
-1972 ski-doo Olympique 335
-1973 ski-doo Nordic 640ER
-1973 ski-doo Olympique 340

-2 1998 ski-doo Touring 380s
-2001 ski-doo Touring 500

We're a Doo family and we've had the old ones in the family since we brought them home. Couldn't ever part with 'em. Usually can find me around Houghton Lake MI. Just look for the old iron.

Thanks for the links, BadBolt. If the F7 can really handle the trails better than my old ZR, then I'm sold. Even my friend who would only ride Ski-Doo said he was amazed how well my sled handled and cornered. Now I've got him thinking A/C

I see you've had the fun of getting your sled a wee bit off the trail, too. Unfortunately, when my sled did that it hit a tree. I fell off doing 60mph after taking 3 jumps rather sloppy so atleast I wasn't on it when it hit. It took 2 sleds and 5 men pushing and pulling to get the A/C back on the trail. I had a spiked track, no reverse, and 15ft of small trees and wet snow my sled managed to clear before crashing. Just my luck. But it did start up immediately and I drove it back to the truck with a red strap around the cowl to keep it from falling off and a dislocated muffler. Talk about loud and embarassing. But it's those fond memories that make me want to come back for more. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

BTW, all you have to do for the link is insert the text you want in the first box and then insert the link in the second box after clicking the hyperlink icon.

Hope this helps.

My bud is getting an F7 because he only weighs 135 lbs. I can't tell you how many times I've had to get him outta' trouble because he just can't hoist the 00 ZR600. At 435 lbs., I might get a break here and there. Every year he gets about $3000 bonus; so, basically, he has his sleds paid for every four years. Makes me sick! Sorry to hear about any sled damage. I burnt a piston last season on my 00 ZR440 Sno Pro on the rail to Mackinac.....BAM...$500 bucks. But, I was back on the trail in four hours....the weekend was saved.[
