Question What was your first Ford experience?

How about it? Was there a certain car or truck that
started your love affair with fords?? Mine was a 73
ford pickup my dad called "splatterball"! The toughest
truck he ever had. A 390 with manual tranny. I new
the first time I climbed in the drivers seat I was a ford
freak.

well, i've always loved mustangs, and originally wanted one, so that started my love of Ford. Then i decided that i needed a truck instead of a stang. Some guys tried to convince me to buy a GMC or Chevy but i wouldn't hear it. Plus on the ranch i work at, the guy who runs the cattle and hay operation has this old '85 F-350 Flatbed with a 4 on the floor. I'm not sure what size engine it is, but it's got some power. That was a sweet truck. It's in rough shape though, it got side swiped by a drunk driver, and its starting to rust in some spots. To open the hood you have to pull the latch from inside and then get out and slam yourself into the drivers side quarter panel so it will pop up, lol

-i'll never own anything else.

My buddy used to drive me to highschool in his '49 Ford. After seeing the abuse that car went through and still ran and looked good, I was made a believer.

My first Ford experience was my parents' '55 Ford. My first experience driving a Ford was my grandfather's Ford tractor. The car that started my "love affair" with Fords was my 1970 Cougar. Awesome car. 351 Cleveland. 'Nuff said. Wish I still had it.

My love affair with Fords was started by the XW GT's and the two door 70's hardtops.....

1964 1/2 Mustang Convertable

When I was about 8 A friend of my Dad's had a 1964 1/2 Mustang Convertable. He took me for a ride in it and it was the highlight of my life to that point. I have been a Mustang fanatic ever since. My first Ford was a 1982 F-250 4X4 Reg cab long bed. Now I need the truck to tow my boat, but the next car will be my Mustang.

Thumbs down Way back when...

I bought a '59 Ford Galaxie sedan to replace another car that threw a rod (GM). Didn't really want it, but had to have transportation.

This thing had a 292 V8 (2 bbl), white exterior with a revoltingly pukey coral pink interior. What a POS! It did have a power bench seat that was nifty, but although it would go forward and backwards, it was stuck in the highest position...very uncomfortable, if you're a guy (get my drift) trying to drive with the steering wheel in your crotch.

Perhaps this is the reason I HATE white cars to this day, and also 4dr sedans. I still have nightmares about being seen in this thing. But, it got me where I wanted to go. Sold it for a '62 Chev SS convert, which I loved.

So, my first experience with Fords wasn't all that great. This was the last Ford I had until the early-marriage, 1977 Torino-saurus Rex station Wagon...another POS.

But I love my F150!

My first was a 1950 Ford Coupe - 2 door, flathead v8 with overdrive. Paid $100.00 for it. Lasted exactly 2 months when some A--H=== broadsided me and totaled it. Said "crap" finished H.S. went into the Army for 5 1/2 years. Purchased a new 1966 Ford Fairlane 390 XLA, candy apple red, 2 door, 335 hp V8 C6 automatic. When I got out. Loved that car. !!!!!!

First car I drove when I got my licence was a 1961 Ford Galaxie Ranchwagon with a 352. It was yellow with dual exhaust and slotted-disc mags. Very cool wagon. The first car I bought and owned was a 1970 Torino 2dr with a 302. I then bought a `69 Torino GT fastback with a 351W 4bbl and that started my love affair with Torinos/Rancheros.
I will be buying a 1970 Torino GT sportsroof to build into a ProStreet car when I finish college next year. Anybody happen to have one sitting around for cheap?
