ROAD RACE --- ricers go down HARD
seacrow: glad to hear the truck is running better for now but are you still going to pursue the matter with the dealer. if it was the cold weather causing it then the problem will return next year, and heaven forbid you should ever take a vacation to see some of your friends up north during the winter.
BTW: is your wife still loving her highlander?

wildchild, I am being patient with the truck to see if it messes up. the cold weather makes sense because none of the problems arose until last October when it was getting chilly at night. I picked it up last Friday and it has been in the 80's every day and 60's every night since then. I am pleased with how it runs now and that is all that I wanted. I am keeping my guard up with it and maybe another cold front will help spell it out.
My wife and my whole family is in love with the Highlander. My mom is looking at one now. Even my rough and gruff stepfather rode in it and said "unbelievable, the seats are perfect". That says a lot for it.
How's the bike. I rode the Valk to Bike Week, it was in the low 80's. Had a blast.

glad to hear your wife is much happier. sounds like you guys should be getting commission for selling those highlanders
bike is doing great, had it out a couple of times so far. can't wait for the warm weather to get here so i can put some real miles on her. low 80's sounds great. i need to find someplace warm to live again
we will be going to the honda hoot in knoxville tenn again this year. can't wait, i love those roads through the mountains. we were thinking about doing americade in new york this year but it looks huge and their very blunt about the fact that they want no loud pipes there. my g/f's kawi sounds just like a wide open harley with the pipes she has and i'm not interested in paying a fine for them or putting the stockers back on. so it's off to tenn again.
next year we are thinking about riding from wis to calif. that should be fantastic. never been out west at all except for basic training in ok. and one road trip to dallas texas.

Rand, lets talk about american cars lasting. You said they couldn't. My uncle has a ofrd ranger. He has replaced the engine once. Think thats bad huh? IT HAD 300,000 miles on it! Try that witha toyota. The odometer broke on his truck at 399 thousand and some odd miles. That was 3 years ago.Today he drives it from tennessee to ohio about 1ce a month and goes other places way outta state with it too. Find me a Jap ricer with those same numbers, 1 engine swap (or none if you can find it) and 400,000 + miles (probobly near 500,000 miles now). mmmmmm kay?
seacrow: i hate you man.

actually decided to bring the bike out of storage for good this weekend and park it in the lot. it snowed a few hours later. very light but just enough to p*&s you off

Hey wildchild, I spoke to soon. We are getting a coldfront now. Thursday the high is only gonna be 75. Time to break out the sweaters again. It will be in the 80's again by Saturday though.
when does it warm up where you are? I have been in Fl. since I was 4 years old. If I had to live in a real winter for 6 months I'd blow my brains out, I think. I haven't seen snow for 25 years, I wouldn't mind a good snowstorm.
You'll be riding soon hopefully.

seacrow: generally here in wis, we get some mild days in mar that will reach maybe as high as the 60's. from then until late june everything is a crap shoot as far as weather, it can be as high as 80 or as low as 40. we've had snow as late as early may one year. almost always get at least one snow in march. although it's generally very light.
usually may is a pretty nice month, then june comes along and cools off a little and we get quite a bit of rain. late june or early july is when it starts to really warm up here. high 80's - low 90's. then in late sept or oct it starts to cool off again.
funny when we visit my dad in naples, at christmas, the locals are wearing fairly heavy jackets and we are wearing shorts and going swimming. i have a pic of my son on my dad's beach at christmas time here in my cube. in it you can see one little boy with nothing but empty sand for blocks behind him
if you want to try winter wis. is the place to be. year before last, i went deer hunting in later nov. the temp one day was 10 below zero. that's before the windchill was figured in.
hope to be on the bike at least once this week, the highs are supposed to be in the high 30's to low 40's so that's tolerable for short trips. just watch cool runnings and think of me on the bike when sanka comes out of the ice cream truck.
