NYFD Rant!
Im glad to see things stay on topic around here. The original post was about being tired of the NYFD and anyone related to the NYC disaster getting more attention or held in a higher regard than all the rest of the professional, blue collar or what ever the heck they are fire fighters, police and whoever else serves the public. There were disasters in DC, and PA but who cares only a few people died in those disasters. You want to know the guys I say are heroes. The fellas that bum rushed those hijacking weiners and showed em what American muscle is all about.
somebody made a comment say if they weren't getting paid would they have gone. well, to inform you there were plenty of guys that went there and weren't worried about pay. there was a young (27 yr old ) guy that went there. he was on the fire patrol. my family went in and all of them were off duty when the left the house. NY'ers have pride, not everything is about money.
by the way, the 27 yr old was Keith Roma, and he paid the ultimate sacrifice. his father was also there and had last spoke to his son via cell phone. his father also dug until december to recover his sons remains. so there is your answer. a volunteer paid with his life! his name is KEITH ROMA! HE IS A HERO!
