Exclamation Answer if you dare!

Given, this is a deep question and many
people don't like to discuss their political
or religious views. But what the He11!
I'll try it anyway.

How many of you are liberals, conservatives,
or just ridin' the fence?

Good question!

I had to think about this & I'm STILL not really sure but here goes - I'd have to say I'm a liberal conservative. By that I mean I don't support anything too radical either way BUT I am not 1 to stick my head in the sand either. I try to apply reason & logic & when that fails, as seen on 9/11/01 I say go get them & make them pay - dearly! I hope this makes sense. Oh & I'm Catholic if you wanted that answer too.

i consider myself a moderate conservative... most people here in austin would call me a right-wing extremist, but compared to most of my friends i'm not too conservative. mostly i subscribe to the "religious right" for lack of a better term. what jerry fallwell said after sept 11th was completely tactless, but i agree with it.

hey, i read my bible and take it literally, drive a gas-sucking truck, own an assault rifle, and like to eat meat ... how can i be a liberal?

Well, I am against censorship, against gun control, all for eating meat and driving trucks and shooting stuff and playing loud music, and I like to smoke in public. Call me what you will.

Ok I have tried to post 6 times and couldn't.

I have typed a book each time. Here are the cliff notes.

I am a beer drinking, good cigar smoking, meat eating, gun shooting, death penalty wanting, eye for eye, V8 Gas guzzler driving, God believing, censorship hating, live and let live, Christian who thinks abortion is wrong but not his place to force my values on others.

I am republican and willing to give everybody no matter race creed or color the respect that I think I deserve until they decide to do something that warrents losing my respect.

There is that conservative.

I'm a Libertarian.

1) Each individual has the right to control his or her own body, action, speech, and property. This means Libertarians are opposed to laws that tell an individual what to eat, drink, smoke, read or watch. Libertaians are opposed to laws that create victimless crimes.

2) Government exists only to protect the individual against force and fraud. To this end, government may create a national defense and police agencies.

Some policy positions of the Libertarian Party:

1) The US should pay for the defense of its own land and citizens and should stop paying for the defense of wealthy countries like Germany and Japan.

2) The individual's right to privacy and security should not be infringed by the government, and private encryption should be available to all.

3) Taxes need to be lowered, and in turn the spending that created the needs for those taxes needs to be eliminated. This includes subsidizing foreign countries, business, and citizens, ending govt subsidies at home, elimination of bureaucracy and reports, and reducing or eliminating the corporate income tax.

4) Schools should be subject to the same free market principles as any other salable service. The public school monopoly should be broken up.

You get the drift.

Cool

trapper,

I'm so far right that I've almost completed a circle and part of me is liberal, but only a little bit.

Another conservative, I agree with most everything said above. Kind of amuzing what kind of people drive these trucks. According to these results, there is definitely a stereotype.
