If they would offer a manual trans in a 2.5 Fusion, I'd probably buy one tomorrow. They did offer a 6 speed stick with the 1.6 EB in the 2013/2014 (gone for 2015 though) but I just don't trust it enough to drop 25 grand on one.

Thats cool then but it was sounding like you didnt want a turbo car because it wasnt economical where as many turbo cars get better fuel mileage than n/a cars.

No not at all. I was actually talking to the sales guy that many people don't understand how to drive boosted cars for mileage. We were laughing about that

The turbo cars are also direct injected aren't they? DI increases efficiency but introduces an additional problem of having to clean the intake ports and valves at around 50k or more.

I rented a 2.0 DI focus on my vacation trip out west this past spring and I was amazed at the fuel mileage and performance of that car. I didn't check it but I drove that thing many hours and would stop to fill it up when we had to go to a rest room and it would take 5 gallons or so. I was really impressed. It was also comfortable and had a dual mode transmission that would keep the trans in lower gears going down a mountain to save the brakes. It has come a long way.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I'm shying away. I know many people are OK but my luck typically sucks. Once that cleaning is figured out without damaging the turboI'll probably join the boosted DI engines.

Another question. I want remote start (love it on my truck). How do I work that into the deal? Absolutely want it done upon purchase. Dealer warrantied.

Should be able to get it as a factory option my dads 2008 Tahoe came with it and so did the 2013 Buick Enclave they bought last year.

Ok so I'm nearly saved up for my Down payment. I'm going to pull the trigger sometime in April or May. I'm having a hard time finding what I want. What would I be faced with if I ordered it. I want the Ruby Red Fusion SE 2.5 with the 201A package (premium 18's, spoiler, upgraded interior) and remote start. They either have the color I don't want or it's an ecoboost. I don't want the technology packages or any of that. It's so basic I can't find it.

What is involved with negotiating a custom order? It'd be what I want so obviously I'd take it and it wouldn't sit on their lot.

Too bad you didn't buy 100 shares of Ford stock 6 months ago, you could get X-plan on a custom order.

Hahaha - posted the same one. Hope you find what you are looking for. You are right the 2.5 was harder to find. We flew from VA to Erie PA to get our Flex because we couldn't find what we wanted locally - still cost us less in the long run.
