The guy is a member of the other forum. He took a beating from a lot of people over his choice of wrapping the strap to his hitch ball. Here was the aftermath that he posted over there:

Not sure I would have risked my truck on that. That is a hard load for a snap pull, to me, that is too much to risk.

looks staged, reminds me of the old big foot videos,

the explorer pulling up blocking the shot, the guy getting out like he owns the place then the camera person moving to a place where the angle is worse.

never get a real photo of the semi "stuck"

number 64 ****blocked it and was the red truck hooked up at the beginning?

i think hooking to the ball was great, so he bent an under $50 item could have ripped a bumper, frame or hook out of the frame. if it was all real.

I've run heavier trucks in sand with no problem the driver of the semi doesn't know how to drive. Lock the power divider, lock the axles, put it in low reduction range in 3rd or 4th gear and let the clutch out slowly and she'll walk right out of that.

Just an FYI that rig probably scales in under 17,000 pounds so it's fairly light.

Not the best strap location, but it's only a $35 hitch, so no biggie. I'd never try to take a semi on the beach though. It's easy enough to get my F150 stuck in crappy Texas beach sand.
