Texas FTW, strongest economy, gulf/port access, plenty of cattle, and farming production. Our own refinery, our own power grid. Shall I continue?

Unsweet tea is funny Europeans and yuppies. And if you still want it, make your own! And Texas requires a front license plate. I'd know cause I was pulled over multiple times for not having one haha.

Oh please, there has never been any correlation between sticker size and pecker size

What Pat said. AND we vote red . . .

the sad part is that the FPV is being taken in house by Ford as there is a restructuring being done by Ford in Australia....the fpv gt will be rebadged as a falcon xr8 in 2014 and could be the last year of the v8 powered sedan as Australia cracks down on its emissions...

Pushing Texican buttons is SO easy.

Voting Red is a plus? LMFAO !!! - Yep it sure hepp'd yall in the last two elections! Just keep doin' whut yer doin' .. as you really must Love to complain. You'll continue to have sumpin' to complain aboot, lol.

Podunk Wingnut fer a Guv'ner... oh boy, now thar's some role model

Economy based upon Walmart employment is something to brag about? Yer Guv'ner even said that!

Refinery - meh - we gots lots of those.

Cows? Our beef cattle are considered the equal of, if not superior to yours.

You do have a lock on the Mexican tourist trade, I'll give yall that!

"Candy from a baby"...

And KMAC - you STILL don't get it, and if'n I have to explain it, it's a lost cause.... (but, I'll give it a shot: Plastering one's vehicles / possessions/self with Stickers is an adolescent trait - commonly considered to be immature in more enlightened governance's - but I'll give yall a mulligan given where you live, lol)

BTW - some fast facts - be proud, y'all,

TEXAS:

A $27 billion dollar budget deficit
Texas ranks #4 in population living below the poverty line (17.2 %).
Worst environmental record in the United States

Ranks #1 in those making below minimum wage
Ranks # 1 (26.5%) who lack health insurance

Ranks #50 in $ spent for Medicaid for the poor and children
Ranks 50th ( dead last ) in $ spent on its citizens
Ranks #2 in the rate of food insecure children.
Ranks 49th ( the 2nd lowest ) in Medicaid $ given to nursing homes

Unfortunately, Aridzona would like to take some of those record setting positions away from Texas. It's kind of interesting to watch this race to the cellar.

some of those can be screwed based on higher population...

El Paso is under state mandated vehicle emissions testing on state inspections. Seriously El Paso? Oh that's right, there is so much dirty air coming over from Mexico that its effecting El Paso's air quality.

I'm dead serious look it up!

MGD, I'm proud of about 1/3 of those. We aren't a damn "green" welfare nation that's taking citizens' guns away from them. The AR I'm going to shoot this afternoon is going to be a blast Sorry we don't go along with the European, death-of-freedom agenda you'd like. How's Canada's gov't-run healthcare system workin' for ya? And comparing a country to a state makes no sense.

Proud of Perry too. ABO - anyone but osama

Looking at it again, almost all of the "negative" aspects that aren't related to those I stated above are the result of millions upon millions of illegals . . . so wanna rethink that entire list, buddy? And even more so, I'd like to see percentages, not raw figures that don't account for the massive population, to which only KrAZyfonIa's compares, and don't even get me started on that sorry excuse for a state.

I always wanted a global Ranger truck with the diesel option that's made in Oz. I thought it was odd that Ford never brought the truck to the USA. A friend had one of these given to him as a work truck, a brand spankin' new one that he used in the Outback. Per him, it was the biggest pile of crap he ever drove. It rattled, the body parts didn't align and there was no safety anything on the truck. I can assume from him that most cars and trucks there are about the same- unacceptable per US standards. While the concept may be intriguing, the actual product falls far short of expectations.

MGDFan, would you like for me take all of yer list one at a time and tell you how wrong you are or would you just like to man up and confess yer jealous of Texas?

Could not have missed by much more with highest per capita gun murder rates in the US.

TX would be down the list at #15.

DC ( where you have to sue to get 2nd amendment rights ) is #1 in gun murders and murders in general.
- The per capita number is a good amount apart between TX & DC.

Chicago ( which has taken murder capitol of the US each in total number and per capita at times ) has double licensing ( and fees ). Look how well that works. IL State police license the person to own a gun, and City of Chicago licenses each gun, and decides if you can have it ( regardless of what the state police says )
- Chicago per year has 2x more school kids killed by guns than the CT incident. Never makes the MSM sound bite list at the national level. local reporting start with "Another drive by shooting..."

Not sure what TX can charge for pay day advance places, IL is 394% APR.
- That is not a typo, yes it is almost 400% APR.

Medicaid, could be true they are the lowest total dollars spent, but it is only a sound bite.
- Could be TX has the least number of people using Medicaid and nursing homes are paid by dependent insurance or out of pocket, which is a good thing. Means people are responsible for themselves, TX is not a nanny state.

Knock yerself out, buddy

I didn't make that list up, someone else did - and he was probably wearing a blue tie, lol. Some points are difficult to refute.

Kindly refer to previous post vs a vis 'pushing buttons' - yall sure are linin' up takin' numbers to shoot back

Nosir, not jealous - overall, I love 'Murrica. I have several 'Murrican friends. Generous and engaging beyond all reason.

It's just the collective 'We Are the Center of the Known Universe' mindset yall Texans have that's a turnoff - Pat's post being a Prime example. Way to go, Pat! "Lookee here - we's got Cows! We's Special!" Yeah right - like no one else has them . *sigh* Youngin's will be youngin's I reckon

And the single craziest ill-considered throwback thing of all? - this brain-free movement to 'Secede'. Oh man ... LMFAO @ that. Instead of working together to solve yer disputes, yall wanna pick up yer ball and go home. Okay, so be it: petition the ol' Imaginary Friend to sever the border - float away into the Caribbean or open Atlantic.

Upside to that = This will give yer landlocked former neighbors some much-needed Gulf access. And I doubt they'll miss South Padre

And I also doubt yer fellow citizens would even notice, given most of 'em have never traveled beyond their own counties, let alone crossed state lines. And I got THAT from a fellow 'Murrican ( seems New-Yawkers ain't too fond of the LostStar State I reckon ).

I got no dawg in this hunt .. but yall are Primo entertainment and for that I am eternally thankful. World would be a much more morbid place wifout yall silly boogers

Really? Which 1/3? I'm curious. I can't find a single trait in MGD's list that would make me proud, 'n ah'm from Tenn'ssee! (Translation fer Texicans, "I'm glad to see there are at least a few negative areas where Tennessee doesn't rank first and positive areas where Tennessee doesn't rank last." )

Actually, you're not a "nation" at all...yet. But by all means, feel free.

Need that AR, do ye? What about the terribly disturbed teenager with no parental guidance who routinely gets beaten and abused by his step-father who owns an armory of automatic weapons? Reckon he needs an AR, too?

For many of the Canadians I've known and have been associated with, it suits them fine. Sure beats the hell out of the $6000 deductible, ridiculously priced "plan" I'm offered through private insurance.

I guess it wouldn't to a person who has no desire to be a part of the country! However, and since Texico is still one of these United States, seeing how Texas ranks in such categories with respect to the rest of the country shows where improvement is desperately needed. Is that why it doesn't make sense to you?

To the first part of that - Wow. To the second part, I'm guessing you meant Obama. Considering "Osama" is sincerely dead - killed under the administration of Obama.

Hold on there, Tex. You can't custom-tune the numbers so they'll work out in your favor. That's a politician's trick. The numbers are what they are.

And in light of this thread, I did a little homework of my own. The results weren't shocking (unfortunately), and from what I've seen (many sources were from Texican conducted experts), MGD's figures are spot-on.

I'll spare any Texicans reading this further shame (or pride? ) by posting the results. However, and if you're so inclined, a quick Google search for "how does Texas rank" will shed some light on the subject.

Lastly, y'all do know that they woon't be no Tex-*** wiffout a li'l hep from some good ol' boys from Tenn'ssee, right?
