Opinions are difficult to refute,

Facts are easy to post.

I do like the whistling walk away for the list....
- Quick change the topic....

Worst environmental record in the United States
- Hard to say what this sound bite means. CA has the most polluted cities in the country. IL has more heavy pollution cities than TX. This is from the ALA.

Hard to make the sound bite of the worst environmental record when 2 of the top 25 in ozone are TX, where CA has 9 of them.

Most polluted by year-round particle pollution, TX has 1 in the top 25, CA has 5 of them.

Ranks #1 on the poorest gun regulations in the US and highest per capita gun murder rates in the US (The Brady campaign gives Texas a score of 6 out of 100 possible points.)
"poorest gun regulations" is an opinion, but the highest per capita FBI says the list is wrong ( TX is # 15 ).
Who ever made the list needs to use some facts from the FBI.
- Defeats the purpose of pushing the opinion of "poorest gun regulations" if they are #15, where DC that has IL strict gun regulations is #1 ( both gun murders per capita & murders per capita ).
The facts tell a different story with this line's BS.

Ranks #1 in the lowest high school graduation rate
Not according to the US department of education.
TX is 86% HS graduation rate, hippy-liberal pot smoking WA state is 76%
Lowest in the US is Washington DC at 59%.
- Starting to look like the list was made from facts for Washington DC, but someone did a find & replace with Texas...

Ranks #1 with the highest interest rates “pay day” companies can charge
38 states do not have pay day advance businesses even regulated, so this line is a sound bite. Hard to push an opinion as fact if the line is: out of the 12 states that regulate pay day advance loans... Those 38, they can charge what ever they want to charge ( free market ).

Ranks #1 in those making below minimum wage

- Kind of hard to track violating federal law....
TX has the most minimum wage workers in the country. Is that bad, or a reflection that TX economy is better than the other 49 states...
Sound bite made to sound bad.

Let's add to this item, TX unemployment rate is 6.2%, 1.1% lower than the national average. and 2.5% lower than CA's 8.7%.
Maybe CA needs more minimum wage jobs to get people working, not on the dole.

Ranks # 1 (26.5%) who lack health insurance
Ranks # 1 (20.3%) of children who lack health insurance

- Might have been in the past, but non issue now... Old sound bite.

Ranks # 1 in the highest per capita executions in the world
- And considering the lower than national average ( and much less than DC ) seems like something is going on here.

Ranks #50 in $ spent for Medicaid for the poor and children
As in the post above, this is a sound bite, made to sound bad. very well could mean most in TX do not need the nanny state.

Ranks 50th ( dead last ) in $ spent on its citizens
Should they spend what DC spends on its citizens, like DC, so they can get lower graduation rates and higher per capita murders ?

Ranks 49th ( the 2nd lowest ) in Medicaid $ given to nursing homes
People taking care of their own ? Sound bite made to sound bad, if it is even correct. without looking I am going to say CA on this one....

Ranks #2 with the highest home insurance rates
- If you live in tornado alley, rates will be higher..... Common sense here.
Bet OK and KS are up there also. Comparing it to downtown Chicago is apples and zebras

Ranks 49th in $ funded for the mentally ill
per capita or in general. Rack it up to another sound bite,,.

Ranks #1 with the highest overall pollution rate
- See #1 above, not true by ALA reports.

Ranks #4 in adults under correctional control
"Correctional control" or incarcerated ?
- Considering TX has the most FEDERAL prisons in the country, having the highest number of incarcerated people would make sense.

No musical numbers here, US department of education, HHS, FBI and CIA track a lot of these and it is a quick google search to find out quite a bit of this list is BS.

Proud of:
3, 5, 12, 13, 14, 22, (consider others potentially good)
so not quite a full third, but some are repeat types anyway.

Inaccurate/LIE:
3, 4, 7, 22 (and probably others, but I'm not going to throw more stats out there and I don't want to look them up)

I completely agree with everything SCCULLY said, and not just because we "agree." Anyone with a brain can easily see that the majority of those are 1) nowhere near accurate, 2)skewed terribly (due to raw numbers and not percentages or rates, or other means), 3)irrelevant.

You can't use rates here, then raw numbers there. It's tilting things to get what you want. Guess what? We have the second largest population, so naturally we'll have more idiots in prison. Who cares what "pay day" advancement companies charge? They're for profit organizations, not here to provide services for irresponsible people who don't save their money. Illegal aliens aren't part of our population, but you can bet your *** they're ALL in those statistics. Want to talk home insurance rates? Let's talk state income taxes, sales tax, and total living costs. People wouldn't be moving here in droves if our economy wasn't thriving with plenty of jobs still needing to be filled. I see "hiring" signs up all over the place driving across the state.

And yes, I called our glorious leader osama on purpose. King obama , whose name I have refused to capitalize for some time now, is the greatest lie ever pulled off on the American people. And they're all JUST now starting to realize that he's been blowing smoke up their butts from his anti-American lips since day 1.

Dewser:

Haven't needed the AR yet, but it's better to have and not need versus the other way around, ain't it? Best self-defense weapon available imo. Every one of these "gigantic" tragedies is a price I'm willing to pay to supply millions with the most freedoms possible. Notice how none have occurred in an area where citizens were allowed to carry? They've been happening for decades, but you're only hearing about the current ones in our new age of media coverage. The media fuels these by broadcasting them. Want em to stop? Don't put it on ANY type of media, period. Every piece of info from a current source, aka DC, suggests that having armed citizens would prevent most of these deaths. Nobody wants to talk about the border violence or all of these gang-banging idiots that kill children EVERY single day.

Don't know what kind of sh*t insurance you've got that has a $6,000 deductible. Canada's system is a waiting nightmare. Need a kidney transplant? Hope you can last 5 years.

I don't actually want to secede, it would never work. It's a way of giving osama and his federal gov't minions the finger.

Custom tune numbers to suit me better? What do you think you and MGD are doing?
