Just bought my first house.... Need help!
I should have specified, the house is just shy of 1900 sq ft air conditioned. I have a pretty big garage at 24 wide by 22 deep.
1 ton per 500 sqft. Rough numbers of course.
I finally finished the well today. I ended up having to put in a check valve. The foot valve on the well must have gone bad on me. However, now everything is working right.
You are correct sir.

I need help with the hot water... It pulses from hot to cold, repeat while taking showers.
It's an electric hot water heater. Unit looks newer. Everything appears to be hooked up right. Any ideas?

Does it do the hot/cold thing from all the faucets in the house?
If only from a single faucet, and it's a single handle control, it's probably the 'blend' valve and you'll need a new faucet or a rebuild kit if they make one for your model...
Good luck with the 'new' house.. They are great, but do require maintenance and upkeep, no matter how old they are..

Could be a restriction in the hot line, so the cold flows faster until the hot can catch up.
On mine the shut off at the hot tank was partially closed and when the hot would flow out of the tank it couldn't fill fast enough. It didn't pulse like you said but the temp would change alot during a shower. I am on city water so my supply to the house was constant. Being you are on a well/pump it could be a flow/pressure issue. But that's just a shot in the dark.
Good luck

Thanks a lot guys. It's happening while I'm in the shower. Haven't noticed it while washing dishes but it may be there too.
AC is going in in the morning. Hopefully get a couple more hours in to the yard tomorrow. Just ran 3 miles around te neighborhood and I'm beat.

Air conditioning is in and what a relief. It got to 97* inside of the house today, 108* in the attic. I have to give it up to the Ken, the Ac guy, pouring rain, ridiculous heat, didn't matter... The guy is a pro. Not to mention he was $1800 cheaper than the three others I had quote me. If anyone in the central Florida needs some work done please pm me so I can give you his info.
The only downside Is the new unit overhangs the irrigation valves. Went to home depot and bought some 90's.... New project for tomorrow.

I knew I was getting into some work when I bought a fixer upper.
Hopefully within the next 6-7 years I am living either in a "fly in" neighborhood or on 20-30 acres with a private landing strip. I hope to get my pilots license this summer to fulfill a childhood dream, and a true passion that my father left me when he passed.
Any Ac guys on here?
Here's my ordeal... My Ac did this even before the new unit/handler/thermostat. The Ac runs to the setpoint and than the thermostat makes a slight click... The slight click is the thermostat going from "cool" to "idle". However, the handler fan keeps running for another 5-10 minutes. Any idea? I have been in a lot of houses and never noticed it.
It seems odd that it did it before and after the new unit.
Help?

Two things. 1) a new electronic thermostat is a cheap way to save a few bucks on a/c and heat (for the two or three hours you need it down there). 2) check you local building codes for a/c requirments. If a/c is required you might be able to get our home inspector to pony up some money for the install or at least get your fee back for the inspection.
I'm not an AC guy, but the handler is probably programmed to do that and working normally. 5-10 minutes seems long, though.
All of the newer manufacture air handlers continue to run for a few minutes/seconds after the outside unit has shut off so as not to waste any residual heat/cold generated by the system. My air handler continues to run approx. 30 seconds afterwards in cooling mode.
I would suggest timing it to see just how long it is running. If it really is running for 5-10 minutes after the outside unit shuts off, then something is wrong.

FWIW, the AC in our small office building just shut itself off, and the air handler ran for 5 full minutes.
I knew it ran on after the a/c, but did not realize it was for that long.
Seems like it should be adjustable - you don't want to keep pushing air after the cool air in the ducts has been put into the rooms.
