You didn't put "LOL" at the end of this sentence, so I'm gonna make the assumption it was a joke. I assure you...my electric bill is paid.

I have to go with everything mentioned above. Very accurate, and easy to relate.

I've bought and sold on eBay for about 10 years. Amazon, I've purchased from for the last two years, off and on. Amazons return policy has to be second to none. I've used it recently. This organization is truly focused upon customer satisfaction. Ebay/Paypal, is good as well IMO. You have to watch title listing wording and pay attention to what's not being mentioned. Things that should be in general. On occasion, you may end up with some sort of knock off, if your not careful.. Sellers on eBay can be absolutely terrible to deal with. A LOT of them don't know anything at all about what they are selling. They get a hold of something and just goggle it for a price.. It'll usually work out in the end with Paypal proceedings, but it can be time consuming and a hassle.

Overall, I've scored BIG on both sites. Same with CL from time to time. There's always going to be scammers. I'm not as familiar, but if I had to guess, I bet with Amazon, your better protected from such.

I find Amazon a little harder to use at times with their listings and merchant product info at times. Specially with used items. The merchant doesn't always have this info available. For used items, I tend to go with eBay.

Customer reviews is what I like to rely upon the most, before purchasing new and for the real deal of the product offered

I should mention this experience as well, -

As Raoul posts above, - "The picture isn't always the exact item."

I haven't had too much of problem with that until recently. Wanted a good heavy duty cover for a welder. I knew the quality was there before ordering. They updated, changed the design which changed the look without reveling such anywhere. You might think that would be fairly important to do, since this drastically change the look overall. They also kept the SAME part number which didn't include revision numbers. When It came, shipped fast, packaged well, brand spankin new and butt ugly. The new design looked terrible; different and didn't resemble the item pictured.
This is what Amazon did, and it surprised me because its never occurred before with dealings I've experience. They sent me another new cover on my word and right away. It came just as fast, but what surprised me is that it came from another affiliated merchant. So along with the great deals that can be had, with the merchants they have on hand, this also may be good advantage for you. On top of that, take can take your time sending the first item received back. They give you 30 days to do so! That said, Amazon stands out, apart from the rest with their return and customer satisfaction program.

BTW, the second cover was just as ugly. No fault of their own, I didn't send it back, but could have. It's growing on me and functions as it should.

So basically you guys area saying even though the flashlight I'm buying is coming from a separate vendor/company (as opposed to being sold by/coming straight from Amazon), Amazon is going to help deal with an issue if things were to go astray?

I googled this company and the reviews are mixed with a nod to the negative side. However, nothing negative within Amazon. Still relatively safe going through Amazon??

Amazon is an umbrella company, that has under the umbrella, thousands of small companies and individual sellers. When you purchase from "Amazon", you are really purchasing from individual sellers. What they offer is convenience, information via reviews, and security.
I have family members that sell a lot on ebay and amazon. Both sites require sellers keep their end of the bargain. My tip, always order with a credit card - not a debit card. If you feel you've been burned, contest the purchase, and your credit card company will make it right.
I've bought thousands of dollars from amazon.com and had very, very few problems.
I agree, if you use them often, go with "Prime". It can quickly pay for itself.

I always shop for computer components on NewEgg and then search the model number I like on Amazon. Half of my computer parts were cheaper on Amazon, the other half were cheaper on NewEgg. I saved about $100 doing that.

I too have had great luck purchasing through Amazon. I've placed maybe 20 different orders over the last year and never had a problem. I'll continue to shop there if they've got the best deal. I've bought and sold quite a few text books through them, I always check out the prices there and it seems like I can get most of my books for half of what the book store here on campus charges just to rent them. (Kind of wished I would have signed up for a Prime account sooner though, oh well lol)

Had prime for nearly 3 years now. Tons of free shipping, movies etc. Its what I use for my Netflix type service. Amazon takes a big time loss for prime buy gains it back by having great customer service.
