Buying From Amazon?
Buying From Amazon?
So, I'm not an experienced Amazon purchaser, but I have friends and family that are. But I'm curious about prices! I found an item I want and the price is almost too good to be true!! You guys ever find this to be the case on Amazon?
I found a $165 SureFire flashlight I want for $115 with free shipping! That smokes the discounted price SureFire gives directly to military and LE. My concerns are is it new, and is it authentic? I emailed the seller/company to ask; hopefully indent offend anyone.
What do you guys think??

I've never had a problem with amazon, and you can't beat the prices, especially if you are a prime member. Between me and my dad, we probably order 10-15 items a month from amazon, and he has a prime account so we get free 2day shipping on most items.
I'm restoring an old Jeep and I always go to Amazon first.
In fact, on pricey items I'll wait and watch Amazon to get great deals.
Jeep people are much more confused than Ford truck people.
The same model has been built for thirty years with just enough tweaks that stuff doesn't fit. Jeepers are constantly complaining about crap that doesn't fit...and Amazon has an excellent Return policy. I work this to my advantage.
Often Amazon items state (9 new, 1 Used) etc...
The used one has had the original box torn open and that's about it.
I've purchased the following (Used) thru Amazon:
Bestop Safari Cover Retail $139, paid $75
Rampage Halftop Retail $429, paid $183
Bestop upperhalf doors with sliders Retail $449, paid $239
Also.....
I have noticed that Amazon will adjust the price on 'New' when they have 'used' available.
So, you don't always get the best 'New' price when they need to move 'used' items.
For example, I pounced on the used upperhalf doors to save $210.
As soon as the used set was gone, the Amazon price on 'new' dropped $20.

Amazon always has killer prices on things. They have deals of the day and of the hour as wheel. I order 3 Airraid air filters shipped to the house for cheaper than ONE from any other place i looked.

In general, Amazon is great and I do just about all my ordering between them and Newegg. However, not all products on the site come direct from Amazon. In many cases the product is from an affiliate (it always shows whether direct or affiliate on the order page). Only problems I have had have been from affiliates, and those were few an far between.

I order from Amazon direct stock to get free shipping.
The downside is since Amazon is acting as a middle agent, sometimes stock numbers get screwed.
The picture isn't always the exact item.
The best intel comes from the customer reviews.
I have returned a couple of items, without issue.
I've never had issues with single item purchases.....but I've had issues with multiple item purchases.....I've gotten them all but one shows up 3 days after I order and then another shows up 5 days after that....I know its not amazons fault cause they're the middleman but I've never have any issues with the products themselves....
They're a whole lot better than fleabay though....

Amazon has one of the best return policies in existence, but there are a TON of counterfeit products there. So be careful and do some research.
Also, companies like Amazon are putting a lot of local businesses out of business since they have a much lower overhead and can price products lower. Buying local is sometimes a better move if the price difference isn't too great.

Amazon is a standup, great-to-deal-with, company, in my opinion. You do need to keep an eye open on other companies selling through Amazon but, even then, I've never had a problem.
To date, I've probably purchased over 100 times with Amazon and even have a couple of things set up to automatically 'buy and ship' to my house (paper towels for the kitchen, TP, etc) and love the service.

I own a Surefire L-1 Digital that I've owned for 5years, used daily and have only gone thru two batteries in that time.
Uses 1 battery, a Cree LED and is as bright as a 5-D cell Mag-Lite.
Got mine off eBay, but do lots of business with Amazon, too, with no problems with either place.

I emailed the contact at the company. He replied pretty quick and ensured me it's an original product and brand new. Said he is very proud of their pricing.

Instead of spending all that money on expensive flashlights why don't you just pay your electric bill?
