Pretty underwhelming to be honest. Sticking with the same 5.3 and 6.2, although redesigned with VVT and direct injection. GM claims their 6.2 will best any half ton in power and torque, although I don't see it making 400+ ft/lbs at 2500rpm like EB does.

The one thing I do like is they are offering their base V6 in every trim level including their top-tier models, I think a lot of folks will opt for that.

While still ugly to my eye, I must say I like the look on the GMC a little bit better. They really need to end the stupid square wheel wells.

Much "to do" about nothing -- it hardly raises the bar for the competition. I think the '09 F-150 restyling was more extensive and impressive.

On a related note, when is the F-150 due for a complete re-do? I'm thinking it's got to be in the next couple of years given the fact that we're now almost 10-years removed from the 2004......???

I think its Q3 of 2014 as the 2015MY. The new Expedition should be out at about the same time or before then, which could give some hint to the new F150.

lol look like there about now on par with the 09 Fords.i don't think they did enough to compete with Ford or Ram and with the new Fords around the corner. just goes to show all GMC and Chevy care about is small fuel efficient vehicles well at least thats what Obamas telling them to do.

I think the new chevys look bad, but for some reason I like the new GMC look. Still pretty glad I have a Ford, just wish I had a ford 6.2 or Eco.

I like the new GMC, but this seems like more of a mid level cosmetic refresh to me.

It's still comical to me. Like they don't want to get rid of their designers and have been going through VERY great lengths in keeping them. They need to create a walking papers package (WPP) more than anything... Priority 1 IMO.

The new engines will be the highlight of the GM introduction. While the 5.3 and 6.2 are the same basic design, they are internally completely different. All aluminum construction from block to heads. The first engines to use a tri lobe cam for the direct injection. Compression ratio for the lowest engine is 11:1 which means more power and economy from the ethanol we're forced to buy. It should perform the same with E85. Dish pistons with focused burn platforms are used. The V6 4.3 is not the old 4.3 but a new engine although not a clean sheet engine. It's basically the 5.3 with 2 cylinders whacked off. The engines are certified as gas, propane, and natural gas. Power output will probably be advertised at more than the 3.7. The 6.2 should be rated at 438HP but typical GM, ya never know what they're going to rate anything at. Ford will more than likely have all engines in 2 years as EcoBoost models offered in the F150....yep, all of them. They're working on certs now. The beauty of the GM engines; far fewer parts and far,far less complicated technology. Now if they could just build a truck as good as the engines, they'd be real competition, but we know that ain't gonna happen.
