The other option local to planet ford is IMO just as bad. The real reason I kept using them is it is convenient for my family to pick it up for me if the work is finished before I can get back down to Houston to get it.
My dealer for me gives out free rentals for warranty work. They also understand that I work away from home so if I drop my truck off before I leave I won't be able to pick it up for a minimum of 2 weeks. It's never been a problem yet. I guess you have your reasons, it just seems odd that the only option is a dealer 4 hours away.

I understand the no spare vehicle thing, My others are an old Camaro with leaky T-Top roof panels and a motorcycle. Neither of which are great choices for rain.

Rain suits for motorcycles have improved vastly in the last few years.

Not fun to wear and ride in, but beats walking by lots and lots!!

How about coming a little further into town on I-45,maybe try Lone Star Ford. I usually get my oil changes done there. Have had other things done also, quick turn around. Just throwing this out there. GG

Just too far out of the way to ask other people to deal with, If i start considering that distance I'll just deal with the rain up in Denton if it happens while I don't have my truck

The entire point of using them is/was convenience. Clearly it's not convenient to use planet ford unless you like taking your truck there 3 times to get fixed for the first time.

I'll definitely be figuring out a different plan if my truck has to go to a dealership again before the warranty is over.

Looking more and more at the bumper, they did an absolutely terrible job. Door isn't that much better.

You can still see the scratches in the bumper from where the guy backed into me. I also feel like they painted it outside as there are black specs above the red but below the clear. Probably a dozen or so of them. Pretty sure they just resprayed it with out sanding it down or cleaning anything up.

Service writer probably took a rattle can to it.

Without trying to remove damage and outside, like you say.

Bet you, yourself woulda done a better job, had you known.

Spoke with the manager in the collision department, truck is going in the day after thanksgiving to get resprayed and fixed. He seemed nice and wasn't too happy with what all i described was wrong with the paint. We will see how this goes.

Spoke with the manager in service about a week ago, told him my issues, and although he sounded much better than the service writers, all he told me to do was deal with him directly next time. I don't know exactly what I was looking for as a response, but I wasn't 100% happy with that. I just know not to deal with Planet ford again.

Bad service writer and a bad body manager. Wow, stay away from Planet Ford is right. Service writers/managers have been a real problem in the past. Some ARE good tho. In the past @ Ford, I enjoyed talking with techs/parts guys. Most are really good, -hard to challenge them on anything lol. A lot of those service mangers are absolutely terrible. Might as well be talking to a box of rocks. - Wait a minute, you are!
