toyota trying to cash in on American history

Maybe I'm being too picky, but I was pissed at this mornings news report. Here in SoCal they are moving the Space Shuttle to a museum for display. Last night toyota got into the mix. They used a tundra to tow it across a bridge and will use the footage for a future commercial. I'm upset a foreign company is trying to cash in on a AMERICAN historic event. Even worse the news report talked all about it even saying "toyota tundra" and giving them even more publicity.... so be prepared for a future toyota commercial claiming they can pull a 300,000 lb of American history
I don't care the tundra is made in Texas, toyota is still a foreign company no matter how hard people try to spin it.

All marketing is BSing the public. Most people can't think for theirselves so you tell them how you want them to think. And that kids is the story to success.

the thing is people actually thought it was a big deal.....

a guy on another forum did all of the resistance numbers and it came down to like only 13k pounds of force needed to pull the thing.

Still looks pretty cool. Too bad Ford didn't get the idea to do this. Although I feel like we should now be worried about people's expectations on what a Toyota can safely tow...

Idea.... or money? I'm sure the offer went out to all auto makers and the highest bidder. I'm sure Toyota paid in the 10's of millions for that stunt. Something maybe other auto makers werent willing to throw away for a silly add.
