Who will be the first?

I keep hearing advertisements for gasoline that cleans intake valves, who will be the first (with direct port injection) to sue them for false advertisements?

There is probably 3 or 4 pages of fine print to cover their butts. But you are right, some ambulance chaser is going to smell money!

You? Mechanically inclined? Don't kid yourself, Patrick. You're only good for spawning large, skinny, chitlins with a goatee that run around and get into automobile accidents

Nitrogen enriched..
Nitrogen enriched gas. The nitrogen refers to the nitrogen molecule in the amine polyetheramine in the formulation. It's the same as found in Chevrons Techron and is one of the best soot removers and fuel system cleaners available. Will it help a direct injected engine? Not a lick. It has to get on the parts to clean and that doesn't happen with the closed valve event of the current DI engines.

So - can we assume that the only way to clean up a DI engine is with a system (BG or Motorvac?) that introduces appropriate chemicals into the air intake?

Your magic canisters won't clean it, they just help prevent some deposits.

BG Gasoline Direct Injection Cleaner (Part 1 and 2)
BG Gasoline Direct Injection Cleaner is a two-part chemical process formulated to quickly soften and disperse baked-on deposits which accumulate on the intake valves of direct-injected engines.
Part No. 271 11 oz. (325 mL) can
Part No. 272 16 oz. (473 mL) bottle
I'm assuming that stuff is used with their air induction kit.
