growing some chicks eh? i get em off the street with my truck! :P anyway, i grow broilers every year, and it is good eating when you know what you put in home grown birds! egg layers also produce better eggs! give em oyster shell, and used egg shells. "not too much though they will start pecking eggs" also make sure they can get to some grit, or something like that. the gizzards grind food better when they have grit!

Very cool. We've been raising chickens for the last 3 years. What started as a hobby for my wife with 6 chicks has grown into us having a huge coop with over 40 birds.

Careful they are addictive.

i would have put the nesting coop higher off the ground since you get snow and keep it away from predators.

Hey Buck, since people are giving advise.........I think the studs are too far apart, the chickens will walk right around them. Raoul's goats could get at them too!

Good to see you keeping yourself busy.

I'll have nothing to do with chickens.
Herding them is an act of futility.

We now know where his overnight guests will stay after the hot tub party.

I've heard, "can you squeal like a pig?" But I've never heard "can you cluck like a chicken?"

Nice work Bucky!
