Holy crap!

My frame is still a dull black from the factory. Road ice must suck up there.

I'll be scared to drive that. You need to do some serious scrapping and repainting.

its not the ice its the salt they put on the roads! eats at these trucks like a fat kid at a buffet.

going to replace both rear ones somthing tells me the passenger side aint far off.

its not bad to drive. feels normal. scrapping and repainting? on what?

Damn dude that sucks, I would be very afraid to to touch that with any type of abrasive including a grinder. The rust is probably holding it together at this point.

My buddy who used to live up there has an F-350 and he got the whole bottom end rust-proofed. He lives down here now but the damned thing still doesn't have a speck of rust under it. No wonder Florida cars are so sought-after.

Yup, I have small amounts of light surface on the underneath, but not bad at all. I had done painting underneath a while back. Going to finish it up this year and really spruce it up. My dad had found a great protective product for wintertime on his Cummins forum. Fluid Film I believe it is called. Big rigs use that and a few members on there said the salt didn't get through and everything still looks brand new. I'll do that once I get everything how I want

yeah im sure the rust is the onlything holding it togther. it is to far gone to try and save. the body under the cab is gone! and my doors and tailgate are as well. and im getting bubbles in the paint in the rear of the bed. here are some pics

Drivers door

3rd door.

Tailgate. yes you can see my plate i dont really know why it matters?

so ya 14 well almost 15 michigan winters have taken its toll on this ole truck. and i wash and wax it at least 2-3 times a year.

if i ever get a BRAND new truck it will be undercoated!

Definitely one of the things I don't miss about Minnesota -- all that road salt! Man -- that's one rough looking undercarriage.....

Looks to me like you've probably got your monies worth with that truck.

I've seen many vehicles that look like that around here. I've had a couple like that in the past. Rust and rot makes getting an inspection sticker much harder. Especially lately. They are getting really strict.

I think that I've still got the stock shacles that I took off the '98 to put the drop shackles on. If you are looking to fix that on the cheap you can have them for the shipping cost. I'll post pics if you want.
