yea i just figured you might want to look at something from a trusted seller....

whats the plan for the expy then? Still considering putting an engine in it? What failed on the expy, i know you said it died, but what died?

We had a 1975 Suburban with a 454 when I was a kid growing up. Thing was a beast...pulled a 20' tt with it. Mom hit a VW bug that ran a stop sign..flattened the Beetle, dad bought a new bumper, that was it. Sb chevys can go almost forever if maintained..my first car was a 79 cutlass with a 305..had 190,000 miles when I sold her, ran great....well, as good as a 305 can run

My mom got her 2002 GMC YukonXL (same thing as the Suburban) brand new, and 145k later, its still running good. The only problem she has had with it is one of the rear windows is really slow rolling up, and she just hasn't taken it to get fixed yet. It has been idling low recently, so I think it just needs a tune up, but nothing major.

Not sure what the plans are.. i know my front yard is starting to look like a junk yard with a wrecked lincoln and now the expy just sitting there .

Its still running but alot more ticking and almost to a knock now.

Honestly I'd find a LKQ engine to put in the Expy if its still clean and otherwise in good running order. We could easily knock out the engine swap in a weekend

Its in very nice shape other than the engine...Just making the wife wait is not going to happen plus i already want my truck back even though its only been a day! It couldnt have happened at a worse time being right around Christmas. Any other month and i would agree grab a engine and throw it in over a weekend.

go rent a car for 2 weeks, $25 a day, maybe $400.00

then fix the expy.

i know it seems like $400 down the drain but letting the expoy sit after what it cost , them buying another 99 model is a crap shoot. plus paying for that rent car is incentive to get the motor swapped.

I had access to a 2003 suburban for a few years and kept it exercised for the owners and I must say it was the Nicest driving and Most comfortable vehicle I have ever been in. It only had 45k on it when the owners swapped it out this fall for the 2009 that I have here now. I liked the 03 much better and if I had felt flush enough at the time I would have asked the owners if they would sell it to me. I know they took it home and were going to trade it in so I am sure they got squat for it. In the 3 or 4 years that I kept the 03 exercised it only required a new battery and a steering sensor of some kind (I forget) in the front end. Now granted it had considerably low miles on it for the age.
I have never owned a chevy but I wouldn't have hesitated to own that 03 suburban.
Thats my .02 cents worth of knowledge.

My dad has a 95' 3/4 ton 4x4 with about 170,000 on it now and it still runs. He has put alot of money into repairs over the years however. Three AC compressors, window motors, computer issues, interior falling apart, and countless other issues. However the motor and drivetrain itself has been pretty good. Hes a Chevy man and wont part with it though. I drove it for a few days when we flew to Florida to visit him. It was okay I guess but his only gets about 10-12 MPG. Just my personal experience with them.

Good luck!

^^ This. My girlfriends sister just sold hers two days after listing it. They are hot around here. It was a VERY comfortable vehicle (especially the back seat ). 2004 with the 5.3L and it would scoot! I was lined up with a turboed Civic in Gainesville a couple weeks back and he was popping off his rev limiter so I punched it when the light turned green- that 5.3L held its own up to 65 before the Civic managed to pass

the 5.3 only seems fast because you have the 4.2. LOL I'd look at the 4 valve navigators.

Why not just fix the Lincoln rather than get a GM POS?

No no we cannot do this. It's too much like common sense.
