The 99+ navigators have a 4 valve 5.4 and 4r100. Very tempting to me, especially when I see some going for $2500-3k.

Yea but I already have a 2006 Eddie Bauer Expedition.

If I wanted a fast SUV I'd just put a blower on that thing.

It's time for a car.

I hate to say it because I've never really been a huge mustang fan but that may be the way I go. 2000 or later GT would be easy to find with my budget and they are pretty quick.

Plus I'm getting somewhat familer with these ford V8s.

Be cautious looking at mustangs. I know around here a 5-10 year old mustang can be pretty screwed up. Some idots get these things and throw cheap, ill performing aftermarket crap on these things and drive the wheels off of them without a shred of maintenance.

Yea if I go the mustang route, I'll try to find a stock one.

edit: which will probably take some time to find.

Yea that's what I'm hearing.....

It would be a blast. It kinda looks like they are going for 10K or so if they are in good shape.

I'm thinking more like 5-6K for one. I'm not in a hurry. May keep looking for a while.

Im no body man but my buddy's wife has one and I can tell you it is one awesome car! Would love to have one myself! We did a Borla exhaust and CAI and it sounds great now! With no more damage that one has I would say it sounds like a good deal to me. They really seem to be holding their value for GM.

I'm seriously considering the G8. Already talked to the bank and the wife, and to some auto body guys.

It has a salvage title. You guy's see any major issues with that? I realize the resale value won't be great but I'm not buying it to resell it.

And I'm going to check to see if my insurance company has any problem with that when they open Tuesday.

Salvage title usually means that a Salvage yard has had possesion of the vehicle. Doesn't always mean "wrecked" as in the case of your G8. I would have a body guy look at the G8's structure to make sure its solid. From the pic it looks largely cosmetic.
good luck with the BMW Killer!!!!

I used to deal with salvage cars at my old job and we'd get them from auctions after the insurance companies totalled them out. Junkyards buy their cars from the same auctions.

Pillar damage isnt usually easy to fix. The seller says simple fix but it rarely is because its a main structural part of a unibody car.

Looks to me that the piece that the fender bolts to would need to be replaced. Cut off then a new piece welded in.

If I had $10K the first car I would think about getting would be a Mustang GT. Five speed with a few mods you could top 20mpg. The new V6 Mustangs I hear are getting upwards of 27-32mpgs. Not bad for 300hp.

A family car I have always wanted is the older body style Mazda6s. They are pretty and a 4 banger (stick or auto) will get 31-34. Not fun by any standards but for a few more bucks you could get the Mazdaspeed 6 (AWD + turbo).

Spent $1500 on a 1996 Camry with 140k miles. Car gets a solid 25MPG, I do flog it from time to time too! Will last 300k miles easy, if ya want the cheaper way out.
