Well. I just bought the wrecked G8 GT. Kinda nervous about it! I've never bought a car I've never seen. lol

I test drove one yesterday and they are pretty quick cars.

I'm just hoping I don't go down the rabbit hole to far on this one! blower, headers, exhaust, etc. lol

Well here it is! Pretty much just like the posting said. The front end damage you can see, windshield, airbag,......

oh and it has a hood but I've taken it off and the wiper cowl.

It has some major rail dust on it. So I'm hitting it with the clay bar till some parts come in.

Not trying to be a troll here, but in the first pic it looks like the engine is leaning a little towards the driver side. Im hoping its just an optical illusion. Personally id like to see it fixed up. The G8 was the car that put Pontiac back on the map as a BMW killer.

Yea I think it's just the way the picture looks. I had a friend come over and take some measurements and he said I am fine within the "frame" rails. He's an insurance adjuster.

Is it weird that I'm clay baring and waxing my wrecked G8 at 1am on a Sunday? Just wondering.

OH and just to clarify, I'm waxing the un-wrecked parts only.

Edit. I guess it's Monday technically.

I'm doing it myself. And I have not ordered parts yet.

The only thing I've done so far is fix the collapsed steering wheel and buy some new seat belts.

If that's the replacement for your "daily driver" I'd hate to see your "winter beater"......

I'm sure it'll be a nice car if and when you get it back together, but all I can say is, "You're a braver man than me!" Guess it helps that you've got your old man to give you some input along the way.....

Update if anyone cares.

radiator support, strut tower support, fender apron, all bought from GM parts direct.
hood bought from some aftermarket place, fender bought from a junkyard in Kalamzoo, MI, Front bumper bought from a guy in Chicago, seatbelts and steering column bought from junk yard in KCMO
So far I've replaced the seatbelts, fixed the collapsed steering wheel, replaced the radiator support, fixed the leaky radiator, and pulled off the damaged parts on the front passenger side. And straightened the parts that I'm going to keep on the car.
And I've repaired the damaged/scuffed bumpers.

Time to weld in the new fender apron and strut tower support then start hanging the fenders back on and getting it ready for paint.

I never thought I'd tear into a vehicle this deep. It's a lot of fun though!
