I havent recieved registration paper for my vehicle.
I havent recieved registration paper for my vehicle.
I live In minnesota and I dont have a registration papers for my moms minivan, my car, or my truck. My mom doesnt know where the paper Is for my minivan, I bought my car about seven months ago, I got the title back, put new tabs on, but havent got a yellow registration paper, am I supposed to go Into the dmv and get one or do they automatically come In the mail. Same situation on my truck as my car, am I supposed to go order one or how does this work. What about my mom, she lost hers, can she order a new one. I have read online that car registration Is the tabs on the car, but I thought It was a piece of paper, and sure enough my dad received his registration for his vehicle In the mail and It was a yellow vehicle registration paper, so Its not the tabs that Is the registration proof - I do have current tabs. - but I want to know about the registration paper.

and you're still driving 'em?
You would be better off checking with your state DMV, they should have a web site to guide you through.
The other way woud be to ask your local law enforcement what papers/stickers are needed.
BTW it is good to see a youngster learning that there is more to driving than "Here are the keys son, be back by 10:00"

Contact your local DMV, can probably do it online and file for a loss of registration/title if you are missing both.
There will be a fee associated with replacing the items.
Not sure about MN but in WA and most states you need proper tabs (license plate), registration (paper signed by legal owner which comes with tabs), proof of insurance with DRIVER's name on it, and if you own the vehicle outright (no loan from bank etc) you should have the title somewhere at home. You only need the title if you plan to sell the vehicle and can file for a loss of title thru your local DMV. You can also print out a loss of title form, have the legal owner sign it and get the signature notorized and give that to the new buyer so they can get a new title (they pay for it).

I could be more specific if you were in Florida, but here, registration is the little yellow sticker showing the owners birth month and expiration year (for example [07 12] on my sticker) and then you have to have the little piece of paper it came on showing the details (make, MY, color, etc, etc). Its best to ask a local cop who knows a thing or two (young cops are gungho and rarely know the finer details of legality) and also check the DMV.
Do insurance companies operating in WA issue multiple cards for the same vehicle with different names on them ?
Bit strange, as IL the car is what is insured, and the insurance card has the owner's name on it ( actually the names on the plates / registration, which generally match the title ).
If it is not insured the person operating it at the time this is found gets the ticket.
If it is the random mail in checks, the plates are what are suspended until corrected ( cannot be assumed to be operated with the mail in check ).
IN WA the driver is insured ??

Kinda....its a single policy for the vechicle with EVERY insured driver to drive it having their name on the proof of insurance card. My insurance follows me due to my policy but you can be written a ticket in WA if you can't provide proof of insurance with the vehicle you are driving on the card....welcome to the Liberal state

Generally the names given to the insurance company are what are on the registration, which generally is the same as the title, and the names are really only used to get the cost for the coverage on a given vehicle ( credit rating, driving record, age, etc ).
So in WA you cannot loan your car to someone without them running a chance of getting a no insurance ticket ? ( obviously they would need to get pulled over ).
Kind of hard to prove by an insurance card that your policy would cover you in subrogation of a claim.
Good thing I have never been pulled over in a rental vehicle, the card on the visor with Hertz only has the company name on it, as the driver changes each day, and those are self insured cards. The company self insures as well.
