Just got into a wreck

I have a 04 STX(OBS). Both air bags deployed. (Yes Im aware with how much the cost). My question is why are the seat belts locked?? And how can I undo this?? Also how can I get the air bag light to stop flashing?? Thanks

The seat belts are locked, because there is a mechanism that fires when a collision is detected. Only way to fix it, i believe, it to buy a replacement for that mechanism.

air bags are going to be used, or just bypassed.

The airbag light wont stop flashing until you replace the airbags and all related parts

Last time I tried to do pics they didn't work. I don't think my valace can be saved. However I had someone tell me it and the front bumper could be bent back?

I don't think they'll want it speeded up, matter of fact I'm pretty sure of that. The seat belt tensioners should only go off on the seats that had someone in it with the seat belt fastened. On your truck (OBS) I think the AB's will both go off unless the R one is shut off manually. I believe the 1st inteligent AB's were in the NB '04. Any AB or SBT that goes off MUST be replaced for the AB light to go off. Remember that when the expended components are replaced, the fuse(s) also have to be replaced for the light to go off. I have seen as many as 3 fuses in the AB electrical system and 1, 2, or all 3 MAY be blown. When ALL is back in order, including fuses, the system will shut the light off. On a Ford it doesn't have to be reset because it goes through a self check every time you turn the key on. That's why it takes a couple seconds for the light to go off. DO REMEMBER that the air bag sensors MUST be replaced whenever there is air bag deployment and there is even one in the "brain" in the right kick panel. (box that is "Boss" of the system) There are other things in the system that MAY need replacing. I have done many of them (mostly Fords) and they ARE ALL different. IT IS NOT something that someone who is not trained in it should ever be messing with!!!

Pretensioners fired. The seatbelts are done for and would need replaced if the truck is going to be fixed.

I didnt have on the seat belt and there was no one in the pass side either. Also is the horn done for as well? After the collision it kept going off. I even remove(fuse box inside truck) the horn fuse. I just unplugged the actual horn...

word.

You pay insurance, let them do there jobs and get it fixed the right way. No way I would want a rushed job on something as important as airbags and seatbelts.

Whats the rush? Does your insurance not provide you with a rental or something? I thought that was pretty much standard these days?

I have liability. The truck is drivable. The other person is disputing it. My lawyer says this could take a couple of months. And we both have the same insurance compnay. I have already taken photos. And if I get pulled over i heard they would give me a ticket for no seat belt and air bags. Actually I taped the bags back in place pretty good.
