You realize that the more fuel you add to a diesel to get the HP to get a brick wall of a truck like to go that fast you have to take compression away intstead of adding it? All the big HP (900hp+) diesel trucks are decompressed so they don't blow the heads off during the combustion cycle because of the increased cylinder pressure from the extra fuel. And Azmidget in right they are not just simply bolt on there is a ton of machine work that goes into milling heads on a diesel and getting the timing exactly right so the valves don't contact the pistons among other things that need to happen.

^^ He has a point. The article states the "modified the compression ratio". Nothing was said about raising it.

Either way, good for Ford! I wonder what 257,175 kg·m/s would look like going through a stationary Prius.

completely upgraded fuel system new turbos, and different pistons

id say it was more than just mildly modified, they probably put about $10k into engine performance alone
Those were my exact thoughts! I wonder what thy are using for tuning?
