Our dog got a frog
^ Wow. Only Raoul and Frank.

KRC - Our friends have a little dog that loves to chase and 'hunt' toads and frogs. She'll foam at the mouth afterwards but that's as far as it goes. Sounds like yours will be fine.

I dont know who is stupider the frog or the dog but they had another episode this morning...The frog got the dog again but the frog was wounded also. Finally pitched him over the fence...
The dogs never learn.

Yesterday when it happened i took her over to the water hose to flush her mouth out and she was drinking from the hose. This morning when it got her she looked at me and walked over to the water hose. I made her wait a few minutes before we did the flush lol
That hunting, killing instinct overrides their good sense, at least with terriers. Mine will hunt toads all night long and just shake her head and look at me after she gets a mouthful. I make her put them down and rescue the toad if possible, toss it over the fence.

Well, my nearest neighbor is about a half mile away and I can not toss a toad that far!

This sounds a little like the way I introduce our ground squirrels to the "neighbor's yards", about two miles away!
Did I remember to mention I fished 16 toads out of our pool when we had our last big summer downpour? (1 3/4 inches). Damned things dig themselves out of the ground, then hop in there to mate. Then, since they really aren't meant to be in the water that long, they end up drowning, if you don't get them out quickly. Stupid toads - I take them far away too, but somehow, more always show up if it rains a lot.

Freaking toads give me the creeps -- when one accidentally hops into my garage I can't get the dang thing out of there fast enough! Come to think of it, the best thing about the drought down here has been that I haven't seen one of them the entire summer.....
nothings gonna happen to your dog not to worry, some frogs release some kinds of oil or something as defense when it gets scared. here in the south ive seen it many of times. the dogs will foam out the mouth alot and sometimes throw up until theres nothing left to throw up. but he should be back to normal by the next day or so. if not then i would bring him to the vet

I realize this is of no interest to most of you, but if you live in Southern California or Southern Arizona, it IS.
