CarFax?

Can anyone run a CarFax report for me on (deleted)
If not, oh well. If so, THANK YOU!

We can't allow that post as it is an illigal request. It is a service that must be paid for.

Thanks
Jim

Really? That is against the rules?

Doesn't matter anyways, someone on another forum used one of their purchased CarFax requests to help me out.

(PS: Illegal is the correct spelling.)

While against the rules here, any dealership will run it for you for free.

Just to clarify (for gklok and any other new members), Carfax is a service that must be paid for to get a complete report. Asking someone who has a paid service to do that for you is not much different than copying a CD album someone else has bought because you're too cheap to buy the album yourself. It is essentially, "theft".

A dealership will run a Carfax report on a vehicle they are selling as an inducement to get you to buy that vehicle. There is nothing wrong with this, they are using their subscription for their own needs. Any seller of any vehicle would be well within their rights to do the same thing.

I doubt a dealership would show you a Carfax report on a vehicle someone else is selling unless they knew the report would be one that would show the vehicle to be something you would not want to buy.

This forum cannot be a party to any illegal activity, so don't try to make such activity happen. I'm sorry to hear this "other forum" is so lax.

This has been posted in the forums in the past as well. I suggest you (gklok), search forums/sites before requesting any essentially illegal transactions.

I always posted this and locked the thread, no need for further discusstion.

Carfax is a pay for info service. To allow members here to circumvent the carfax rules, f150online could possibly be considered aiding in some level of theft from carfax. Thus, they are not allowed.

Yep, you're correct. If that is my biggest mistake on here, I will be in good shape.
