Pc Question

My wife's pc has taken a dump. Before I took it off the desk it had a hard drive light (constantly on) & a cd drive light constantly on (it would not open). Having taken it off the desk I am not get it to do anything at all. No fans are working, no lights nothing. It was very hot near the power supply at first. I have removed the power supply & tried to switch it on (the power supply) its own but it does not do anything, no fans, nothing. This strongly suggests to me that the power supply is fried. Any ideas?

The power supply will not turn on unless it is plugged into the motherboard or a tester. It needs feedback to turn on. From the sound of it, it could be a bad PSU, but without a tester, no way to say for sure.

grab a power supply tester they run around 10 to 15 bucks and test the voltages. More than likely its just a power supply. If power supply tests good then check all capacitors on the motherboard, if they look good then more than likely processor or mobo.

Mine is built by Squeezer Technologies and it won't turn on either!

I'm going to check all of the caps as mentioned.
