FWIW, West's district is considered fairly evenly split between Dems and Repubs, with a significant number of independents. Just like the USA.

West, the challenger, garnered 54.36% of the vote against an incumbent Democrat in 2010. Kinda hard for him to do without independents and crossover Democrats.
Ok sorry im wrong, I guess he is popular with independents. But Since this is his first time in congress, why would he consider running? But Obama did it so I guess he can too

If I was Chris Christie, I would STRONGLY consider running. Just on the record, I think Christie would be a great president! Im not sure about right now but he definetly should run sometime in the near future.

As a Lt Col in the Army he has led people into very stressful situations. If he had been a completely and utterly useless leader it would have come out in his most recent election. The organizer in chief hadn't led anything, except maybe a prayer group. I do have to agree he should wait at least another election cycle before attempting to make a run for the White House.

To answer the OP's question I've been listening to Herman Cain. He has some good ideas and I like his background. Nothing like a person doing what people say can't be done. He grew up poor, but instead of whining and crying about it, made himself successful.
One thing to keep in mind is the fundamental difference between Democrats and Republican parties. Republicans act in a very militaristic top down fashion and will vote in lock step fairly consistently. Democrats are much looser in their connection and rarely vote in unison.

This isn't just under Obama but is historically the case.

Still Obama is not a strong leader and gets bullied easily.

Obama and his gang are destroying the US. Loaning money to Brazil to deep water drill and then say he wanted the US to be their best customer while stopping drilling in the US. That is the thinking of an idiot who is intentionally destroying the US! His green agenda means well but it is hurting the country big time. He is intentionally causing fuel prices to go up so alternative fuels can be forced on us.
I think there are several good Republican candidates for the nomination such as Pawlenty and Cain. I'm not a fan of McCain. Romney may be ok. Huckabee may be ok. The reality is that for me I'm voting against Obama no matter what.

When the dust settles it will be a match up between Obummer and Joe "I'm an idiot Biden" vs. Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann

With an already impressive list of accomplishments I can only imagine how many great things Obama will do if you guys make him PERMANENT President.
