Republicans!

who do you want for president?
My backwards thinking self thinks that John McCain should run again. BECAUSE the debate between Obama and him would not be so hate-filled. or Ron Paul because he can respectfully disagree!

I dunno but they better find a viable one pretty soon because the pickins are slim. At this point, Obama is a more attractive choice to me than anything the Republicans have served up so far. I hate to say it because I do not like the elitist style of government he brings into it. But at least he is not ignorant or stupid and that seem to permeate the Republican favorites these days. Now, don't get me wrong, I do sort of like Ron to some extent.. but sometimes but he sort of attracts a lunatic fringe I cannot abide at all.

I know some people may hate Obama, but he IS a smart guy, no doubt.

Obama is a smart guy but sucks at negotiating. He repeatedly allowed the Republicans push him around. It is like this debt ceiling thing. The reality is we don't want to screw around with this. We default and the recession we had will seem like a party.

Obama's problem is he is no leader. He is great at campaigning, but when it comes to actually doing the job he is out of his league. Look at the past year and a half, most of it his party had complete control of the government. When they didn't control it all, they had several RINO's who easily switch to the democratic party. They could have passed anything they want, but he was unsuccessful at it.

To answer the OP's question I've been listening to Herman Cain. He has some good ideas and I like his background. Nothing like a person doing what people say can't be done. He grew up poor, but instead of whining and crying about it, made himself successful.

I want whoever has the best chance of beating Obama in the election. I don't really care WHO, I just want Obama and his incompetent gang OUT of there.

The Republican ticket should include Alan West and Herman Cain.

If one of them is not interested, insert Marco Rubio.

When they win with huge support from the Tea Party, that should put a knife in the 'Teabaggers and Republicans are racist!' tripe that gets spewed constantly.

What's so threatening about a smaller government that lives within the Constitution that makes some folks need to start throwing around the 'r' word?

Oh, and I absolutely agree the Campaigner in Chief has a gift for delivering well crafted speeches, designed to appeal to a huge voting block (liberals and Dems).

Even if the Republicans pick a good candidate this time (McCain was NOT one), IMO, we are in store for another CLOSE election in 2012. That's just the way the country is divided.

I like what I see out of Chris Christie so far. He tells it like it is, which is refreshing. Herman Cain and Alan West are pretty interesting too.

I gotta do some research on all these guys before I can truly support any of them though, I don't know enough about where they stand to make an informed decision.

Pigeon-holing yourself into a particular political party makes you an assbag.

You should look at the issues that each individual politician stands for, regardless of political party, and vote for the one you most closely identify with. If that candidate doesn't exist, you should consider running for something yourself.

You think wrong. The link below shows he is tied at 45%/45% for independent voters in a very recent poll against a Dem who has already announced she is running for his seat.

http://www.floridalatinconnection.or...ading-frankel/

FWIW, West's district is considered fairly evenly split between Dems and Repubs, with a significant number of independents. Just like the USA.

West, the challenger, garnered 54.36% of the vote against an incumbent Democrat in 2010. Kinda hard for him to do without independents and crossover Democrats.
