BTW : You can do like the media, and call this call warfare. In reality it is making the required cuts, which every line item Ryan went after, including defense spending.

You have the "stay away from this item and stay away from that item" mentality, where should the cuts come from ?
I am totally fine with the Ryan plan and rolling back spending to 2008 levels.

I was laughing at and mocking those who claim 'class warfare' against Ryan, just because he wants to 'cut energy assistance to the poor'. In reality, Ryan's plan will leave $5 billion +- in energy assistance for the poor.

Can anyone find another nation on the face of the earth that spends more than $5 billion on energy assistance to the poor? Probably not.

I like how you act like Ryan's plan of giving $5 billion +- in energy assistance to the poor is 'class warfare'.

Really, I want the poor (and everyone else) to have cheap, readily available energy.

Drill baby, drill.

Build some nuke plants, too, while we are at it.

Cheap energy would be a huge stimulant to the economy, and would help the poor way more than getting a check from the government.

We are going round and round with a 16 year old. He hasn't learned how the world works yet, and he is refusing to listen to those who have been around a while. Really that's what is expected from a 16 year old. In addition to all of that as the old saying goes, "If your not a liberal in your 20's you're heartless, if you not a conservative in your 30's you're brainless."

Don't take my comments as a slam against you. We've all been there.

its fine dude. Really its all about which party you belong to, republicans will support ryan while democrats will support obamas plan, thats just it. and my views are reflected by my parents because ive seen what they have been through. its just my views, you dont have to hate me just hate my politics which you all obviously do. not a big deal. the main reason why I debate you guys is because no one else wants to thats my age. at least I care and know basic history, and my views wont change

I must be heartless and brainless then because I'm libertarian. Get the government out of as many things as possible IMO

@blu3exp-I think your views will change as your experience in life changes. Mine have changed and believe it or not differs from what my parents think. I think the most important thing is to have an open mind and try to see things from different perspectives. If you have the ability to put yourself in someone elses shoes you can think a lot more clearly on any issue that is thrown at you.

Democrat or Republican. The two crappy choices that are thrust upon the American citizens. Lets see you can vote for this crappy candidate or that crappy candidate. Which will you choose? This two party system is akin to a dictatorship it seems. Here's the new boss same as the old boss.

There's no hate in my position. I've been raised to be self-sufficient, so I was forced to do things at a very young age that my peers were still unable to do several years later. The difference was I didn't have anybody there to do the things I needed done, while my friends had their mom's and dad's around who would help them. I have also spent almost 20 years working in a job where I observed the outcomes of liberal policies. Most have failed. To allow the policies to continue is the biggest injustice we could do to the recipients of many of those programs. Living the conservative way has allowed me to go from not being able to afford clothes (even from Goodwill)and only having a high school education, to obtaining a 4-year degree and making a very good living. It only took about 15 years to go from literally having nothing to having enough money to live comfortably.

everyones different and not every conservative idea will work for everyone just as not every liberal idea will work for everyone. its just a matter of personal preference.

This is what I've always felt instinctively, but I heard a counter-argument that seems at least on the surface to have some logic to it. (Not that I want higher taxes, I'm just wondering whether the original argument is really valid.) Anyway, here's the counter-argument:

Business owners pay income taxes only on the money they have left after covering their expenses (i.e. their profits). By definition, the profits are not where the money for investing and employing people is coming from, because the money used for investments and employee pay is considered expense (and thus is not taxed) as opposed to profit (which is distributed to the owners and taxed).

So while raising tax rates might reduce the owner's own disposable income, it should not reduce their incentive to invest in the business and hire workers. One could even argue that higher tax rates on their profits might make the owner more likely to invest and hire (since doing so is not costing them as much personally as it would with lower tax rates).

Where's the flaw?
