Bet you didn't realize that some of my pictures above are HDR, did you? The ducks picture, the G35, and the staircase are all HDR, done in Photomatix.
Strong work. Nice job using the polarizing filter to cut down on the reflections.
I love Photomatix. It's a relatively easy interface to learn, and you get to fine tune the images pretty well between Photomatix and Photoshop. I have an older version have only computer to try if you'd like.
Another amature here. I have a gripped T1i with a 18-55 and 55-250. I have a few other goodies, but nothing worth mentioning. Next lens on my list is the 70-300L.

I Canon EOS series camera is a great learner, so I've been told. Also whatever the Nikon equivalent version is.
IMO, Canon's have a better user interface with the actually camera. Minimal buttons to do everything.
