Head off to Fort Worth and go look around. Up there you see a ford dealership every 5 miles. I guarantee you will find something in your price range and maybe even lower.

Yessir, Chaparral Ford in Devine. At one time they sold more F Series trucks in Texas than anybody. He probably has well over a hundred sitting there. But they don't sit long. They move a lot of trucks. My 04 XLT SCrew listed at 35 and I drove it out for 24 including TTL with no trade. I've been buying there since 1986 and have yet to have anybody beat the deal. No hassles, no gimmicks, no headaches, just a great deal on a great truck. Jeez, after all of that commentary, I think I'll have to go by and have Sonny buy a round of Chivas.

Good news! I got them down too $27,500 plus $10,000 for my trade. Right now i'm trying to get the bed liner and leather seats thrown in for free. I finally had to talk with the owner though.

You'll be amazed how well that 4.6 3v,6 speed trans and 3.73 geared truck performs compared to a 5.4 3v, 4 speed trans, 3.55 gears equipped truck. This truck is heavier then mine and though I can tell the torque is a little lower, the truck moves around with enough authority for me. Go drive one. I bet you'll respect the 4.6 more.

Still doesn't sound like they are giving you crap for your trade. I got 17K for my 2005 after getting 12K off msrp. If your truck is not in great shape maybe that's good. I felt mine was worthy of being displayed in the showroom though. This did sell it in one week for 21K after I traded it
But if you are happy that's all that matters

My truck is an 04 xlt crew cab 2wd with 117k miles. The excellent book value is only about $12k. Sounds like a decent amount for the trade to me.
