Yea I will get an extra $1,000 for trading my 04 F150. Something about an owner loyalty rebate.

Nice truck buy that thing is way over priced, before discounts and after. When I purchased my 2005 it too was a leftover in 2006. Same goes for my new Silverado. With the Ford, it stickered for 41,700 and was a fully loaded Lariat with the 5.4, crew cab and 3.73 gears. I got the truck for 29 to 30K after taxes, extended warranty, 3/36 severe maintenance plan (3/36 they did everything at 3K service intervals), Line-X bed liner, Dual DVD player in headrest and a tonneau cover that I had them add to my truck I paid 34,600 out the door. All that added in and still got it for 7,100 out the door. With my new Silverado; it was 52,300 and I got it for 40,364 delivered to my house. I never even went to the dealer, did the whole deal online. Dealer was 7.5 hours away. I found it searching google and negotiated the deal online. I had an 02 with the Lariat and the FX4 package and I only paid 34K for it too.

You can bet they want to get rid of that truck. Gas prices are going up and if they don't want to play ball shop elsewhere. How is an XLT with a smaller engine priced as to what the Lariats were a couple years ago? Did the economy get better in your area? That's crazy! I wouldn't pay much over 25K for it.

Edit: (up here cuz my phones a pos) whitecyrstal: you gotta remember truck prices have sky rocketed in the past few years, that 38k sticker on that one was 36 on my 07 (same options) and the rebates are there on them like they used to be.

My 07 xlt 4x4 was 25k +ttl.
08 king ranch was 28k + ttl. 4wds were 29k when I bought my xlt.

But they aren't doing nearly the discounts they had been either. I know their are xlt conveniance discount xlt discount ecoboost discount there is a discount for everything on the 2011 xlt's at the moment.seeing the sticker is at 38 I'd probably be happy at 28k if the 2011 doesn't interest you but atleast do yourself the favor of getting one priced before buying that 10 just to see what the difference is

When I bought both my Ford's they were cheaper than the GM truck. One of the main factors as why I went Ford. This time around I didn't even look at Ford as I wanted something different and felt I was getting a similar deal on my chevy as I did in the past with Ford so I went with it. I didn't have to do much of any negotiating on it either. They had already marked it down to 41,XXX off the 52,XXX msrp. What I got additionally is the 1,000 GM Loyalty and the 750 car show discount since I live near DC. so it was at a great price.. as a model year left over should be. You are right I would shop the 2011 at that price and get exactly what you want. IMO if it didn't sell last year they better be giving a good discount for me to buy. Just doesn't make since to buy a year old truck in the same price range as the newer model year. that puts you that much more in the hole

Took the truck back earlier but didn't get anything done. I tried about all I could to get the price dropped but no luck. They keep claiming if they went lower then $30k they would lose money. I didn't think about it until I got back home but is it possible to ask for their invoice showing how much they paid for the truck? The only reason im trying to deal with this place is cause the sales lady is like my second mom. She's trying her best but at this dealership the sales people have no say in prices. Pretty much all they do is show you the vehicle and convince you to buy. After you commit you begin arguing with the sales manager about the numbers. It just doesn't make sense they won't deal on this truck. Its been on the lot for almost a year.

I think the slow shift isnt the shift, but the 4.6L. i have the 5.4L and have plenty of pep coming from a 2006 f150. its much better. i also got an fx4 screw 6.5' bed . sticker said almost 42000 and there is some serious rebates going on them anyway. so you can do much better then what hes offering I think. i was down to 31K without saying a word thanks to Ford rebates. then my trade in. Just something to think about... for 31K id say if you wait a couple months you could get into a 2011

Here's the truck you want:
http://www.inventory.ford.com/servic...93&modelid=220

Call 830-665-4461 ask for Sonny Dunsford. He's the sales manager and his brother owns the joint. He'll make you a deal at cost plus all day long. He'll even pick you up from the airport. I trade with this guy all the time and I never see the truck I buy until I pick it up. Great folks to deal with and he can work around yer trade on the phone.

When I mentioned slow shifting it was more in regards to how soft ford makes the shift settings. My 04 is like this without a tune. I will clarify one thing since it has been argued here before. The 4.6 in this truck has enough power to satisfy the average joe but it does not move the truck quite as good as the 5.4. You can tell that the 4.6 loves to rev, where the 5.4 has its ***** in the lower rpms. I was quite impressed to see the truck lay down two black marks about ten foot long front a stop with traction control turned off and it moves up to 60mph respectably but after 70 the coefficient drag is taking its toll pretty good. The 5.4 may only have 40 more ft.lb of torque but you can feel the difference. You just gotta get into the hills or put a load in the bed to really notice. As for fuel mileage on the dummy computer it showed 15.9mpg when I parked it at the dealer. This was driving without mileage in mind. Overall its a nice truck and Ford really built a great truck. Driving on a gravel road last night going to a friends house the rearend never got unsettled when driving accross the washboard areas. The thing I was surprised about is the motor noise. When you floor the gas you can really hear the motor come alive. My 04 5.4 isn't nearly that loud. It sounds pretty good though.

30k is to much. they are giving you the run around. ONLY DEAL WITH INTERNET SALES. their job is to move inventory. if they can afford to add leather and bedliner, their is obviously room to go down. pass on the truck, it's not a deal to cry over that's for sure.

i can get you in touch with the lady i dealt with in fort worth, she was great, they have no problem picking you up at the airport. she was actually willing to have someone drive down to me in houston (4 hrs away) and do the deal so i wouldn't have to drive up. it looked like they had a decent amount of left overs on the lot compared to other dealers.

edit: and yes, they should have no problem showing you invoice. i think every dealer i dealt with showed it without me even asking. kbb and edmunds will get you a rough invoice (i found it to be about $800 off at the trucks i was looking at) but it's a good starting point to give you a general idea.

Labnerd I appologize for over looking your post man. I just now saw it, after reading these replies I will start calling around out of state for a better deal. Yz250 if you will give me the phone number to call. It looks like I won't get lucky with anything here so i'm willing to drive 6 hours to Fort Worth in order to save a couple thousand and get a better equipped truck. Thanks guy's.

Just checked out the link you posted. One thing I failed to mention was that i'm trying to not get too much over $30k. Its just my stopping point i've had set in my mind before adding my trade. Thanks.

To give an example of how crappy this dealer is the sales manager argued with me about how the rebates work. He claimed the dealer is taking a lose and not Ford. He argued with me almost ten minutes talking about how good of a deal they are trying to give me.:lol I still don't see why I wasted so much time there.

same thing happened to me at the first dealer i went to. (truck would be a dealer trade), went to another dealer and was $1600 lower with out negotiating. you can have another dealer do a dealer trade if you are really wanting that truck. only deal with internet sales, they should put you at invoice then minus rebates. hold back from the few dealerships i saw seemed to look about $1200 so the more you can eat into that the better, but i'd be happy at invoice - rebates if you went with a 2011. for that 2010 they should be begging for it to be gone.
