Got me a new toy. (Samurai)

hey guys looky what i brought home today.

it's an 88 suzuki samurai. it's got 120,000 miles on it and has never been offroaded until i got it. im ordering the lift for it in the next few days and i should start the build. i plan on running around a 37 inch tire which will take this thing through just about anything. i do plan on making it big enough eventually to run 40's or bigger. samurais can float on water with 44s. . i'll be installing transfer case gears for now and when i run larger tires will probably upgrade whatever axles go under it.

Nice. It looks like a legitimate kids toy compared to your truck haha. Can't wait to see it built.

yeah i got rid of it all and came out with just as much as i had in them. it was just going to cost a lot more and be a lot more problematic to get the blazer right so i sold it.
thanks, ha i really like that it's almost the same color as my truck.

haha i've seen one on 44's and they're pretty close to touching each other. the good thing about these is you don't have to run a super strong axle to still work with large tires since the motor is so small. i'll probably run toyota axles later on but just the stock sami axles for now. i've seen one on stock sami axles and 49s that did really well. i just have to gear them really low. mud is also good since it doesn't have much traction so there shouldn't be too much breakage.

Understandable, I remember you said it was kind of overkill for what you would be doing anyways. Glad you got your money back out of it though!

And to think these stupid trucks eat axles with anything over a 35-37.

yeah it really was. 2.5 tons and 44s and it's just going to be my mud truck to play around the house and ocasionally ride to town in. it was all around impracticle haha.

haha yeah but you've got to think we weigh 2.5 times as much as a samurai and have about 3 to 4 times the HP.

Nice. Samis are just like wranglers but smaller and cheaper and cheaper to build. Nice choice.

haha that sounds like an awesome samurai. yeah and this ones motor seems to be great and like it hasn't been ragged on over the years. it'll still get up over 75 mph fine.

We have 2 of them. They're just stock and we use them for commuting. Mine's an '87 and the hubby's is an '86. They are awesome little rigs and fun to drive!
