Daytona..
I thought the race wasn't as bad as some of you are making it out to be....record number of lead changes, record number of cautions and the Wood Brothers Ford in victory lane, good stuff IMO.
Junior was collateral damage in the Bud Shootout, in practice and in the 500. Pretty crazy luck for speedweeks. He had a strong showing in the 500 though, I'm encouraged. I got a good feeling about him and Letarte.
The only good thing about Junior not winning the 500 is I don't have to listen to a bunch of idiots say NASCAR rigged it for him.

Just kidding, I like Jr, myself and would like to see him do well.

[QUOTE=Roadie;4506161]I'm not a Dale Earnhardt fan either because of his dirty racing. Nascar let him get away with because he was a star I suppose. Rusty Wallace used to be just as bad.
If they had not changed the point system Jeff Gordon would have two more championships or 6 total.QUOTE]
^^^ I was not a fan of the chase even when they announced they were doing it before the 2004 season...that loss of 2 championships just makes me hate it more..2007 was a joke, he smashed the field all year

The Chase was maybe the biggest mistake NASCAR has ever made.
As for this Daytona, I have to say it was pretty entertaining. Seeing the Wood Brothers colors and Pearson's number was cool enough. Having it end up in Victory Lane was awesome.
Those drivers had their work cut out for them this week. Youv'e got to have stones to do what they do, running blind behind some guy at 200 mph while keeping one eye on the temp gauge and your fingers crossed for 500 miles.
No way you win a race like that without a magical combo of courage, skill and luck.

I don't mind the chase, I think the "regular season" points leader should get a points bonus of some sort. I really like the two wild card entries they got now. Gonna make for some good drama those last few races leading up to the regular season finale in Richmond.
Awe come on man when have you ever let an opputurnity to bash on Junior pass you by?
You know you would have been the first to say they rigged it for him if he won

depends. are you talking about a true stock car (i.e: taken from the production line like in the 60s) or this tube and frame crap with stickers?
Doesn't matter. They are both race cars....
i think if nascar went back to STOCK car racing it would be alot better. id loved to see mustangs camaros and challengers out there. not to mention they would make some pretty crazy cars that the public can buy like back in the day. but they have to sell so many of them to use in nascar.
roll one off the line and go to the race on sunday. Race on sunday sell them on monday.
