Daytona..

You call this racing??
Nobody behind you pushing and you go nowhere..
Looks more like Trailer racing to me..

Better idea..
Get rid of restrictor plates and put a chip in the ignition that craps out the motor at say...7800...

Then you won't need a push to go anywhere!
I DO like the fact that the Mustangs and Camaro and Challenger actually LOOK like they are supposed to..
This tandem racing however...

...zap!

I've got an even better idea -- pick those pony cars up at the dealer, knock the windows out of them, weld in a roll cage and run'em as you brung'em.....

Like Jr said, there will be 21 pairs of cars going around the track and one poor moron will be left out. Who knows, it may be exciting anyway...if you like wrecks. The Nation Wide bunch sure tore up some cars today. And did you get to see the truck series? Not much left of the trucks in the final laps.

Mayne Shrub will be the unlucky one.

I heard the figure skating crowd is starting to like Nascar now with all the pairs racing.

I have never been a big fan of NASCAR after Earhart died.

same here

that was back before the points system, when you actually had to win almost every race to get something at the end of the season.

they are trying to organize it too much in my opinion.

Dale Sr. is probably rolling over in his grave seeing what it has become.

If they limited the engines to 7800 RPM that would be an even more boring race considering MOST of the teams are running 9000+ RPM.

But I get what your saying.

I used to be a bigger fan. I was one of the anti Dale guys tho, sorry I always hated Sr. he was the poster child for a dirty race car driver. If you were in his way then he was going to wreck you to get in front. Racing is when you have a faster car to beat the opponent. Not take out anyone that is in your way.

But ive lost all interest since they are all the same now. It used to be an actual stock car. What you seen on the track you could go to the dealer on Monday and buy a similar car to what you saw on sunday. Thats why a lot of them were developed. There would be no such thing as a Boss 429 if it wasnt for NASCAR. They made that engine and in order to run it in Nascar under the rules it had to be offered to the public with AT LEAST 500 production units. So Ford took 499 (one short yes) Mustang fastbacks over to Kar Kraft in Detroit and had them stuff 499 Boss 429 engines into the engine bays.

Now thats racing boys. Needs to go back to that. But then the Camary would be left out to dry because no one wants to see a stock 4 banger running around Daytona, and thats why they got rid of the actual race what you see in the dealer.

I don't mind the points system so much as I hate the "play-offs" they have now. That came about because Matt Kenseth consistently finished in the top 10 that year while other teams were hot or cold and weren't consistent at all. Other teams won more races than he did that year, but all had several races they did not finish or finished very poorly. Matt won the championship and didn't even have to finish the last race.

The pairs racing worked in Michael Waltrip's favor in the truck race the other night.Because normally there isn't more than one driver on the track that's willing to draft with him.

If they really want to mix thangs up, start running clockwise.

They'd have to learn how to 'steer right'. Hehehehehe

From what nascar has said is they did away with the final 10 races point system.. This whole new " HAVE AT IT BOYS" attitude should be interesting.. Letting drivers express themselves on and off the track.. Can wait to see what happens this year..

This race is lame...its not racing its just bumper tag. Take off restrictors and whoever live to the last lap let them race. This is not racing...
