running about $3.25 right now here in the buffalo/niagara region. i just like probably many other people just bought a new truck not long ago. granted it is the 4.6l engine it is still a costly fill up reguardless. but still, damn do i love my truck. sure we are all used to relatively cheap gasoline, we all know the rest of the world pays much higher prices. $8-9 a gallon in some countries. hence why they rely on public or other forms of transportation.

so if in fact it does eclipse the $4 or even $4.50 mark by the end of next yr i pretty much plan to grab my backpack and ride my mountain bike to the store if its just for a couple items. or even to work just one or two day a week. over a months time that's roughly 16 gallons per month i am saving just going to work alone. plus i love the outdoors so thats something that i am plenty ok with. cheers tonite everyone.

Meh I wish I could afford to buy a car and still keep the truck.

Gotta pay to play

Seriously -- unless you're "laying wood" on a Hollywood starlet, the only "good thing" about living in California is that the weather is nice. Beyond that, you live in the most dysfunctional he11-hole in the world. The funny thing is, people who grow up there seem to think everything is just hunky-dory.....

At $5 a gallon, I'll be looking for a 4cy beater to drive back and forth to work, I guess. 70+ mile daily commute will eat a hole in the budget for sure at that rate.

I never understand spending money to save money in that way. Makes no sense to me with all the costs added up. I commute 50 miles a day and that is not an option. I can trim the budget in other areas.

Man you hit it right on the head with that statement. I've lived in Colorado most of my life and here in California for the past year and a half. I'm outta here in a few weeks and it could'nt come sooner. Everything is overpriced and for what reason? People living here all there lives just think everything is normal and continue to think its the absolute best place to live. Well I'll continue to let them think that, just don't tell them that the quality of life is soo much better elsewhere. This state is a mess.
