How bout those Gas prices...

Gotta love it, the former President of shell goes on the record saying that by 2012 the US could be paying upwards of $5 a gallon. Im in Charlotte, NC and its $2.99 - $3.04 for regular. I rely heavily on my truck, this is a kick in the ding ding. The OPEC cartel is limiting production and has our collective **** in a sling. We need to utilize the new technology they have created to make harvesting the oil more efficent and up our domestic production or we are screwed. we use 20 million barrels a day how could we let some one else have this much power over us?

ok thanks for letting me rant for a bit.

Why is this in the 04-08 section? Do we have different pricing than everyone else?

$3.19 here. It was $2.99 one morning and I thought I would wait to fill up until after my meeting and then it went up to $3.19. That's why I'm glad I had $.20/gallon off because of Giant Eagle, back down to $2.99. It's never fun putting 33 gallons into my truck no matter what the price is.

I have and 04, its where I was when I got all bent about it.

Its not the pay to play issue, its the fact that they CAN produce more to off set the demand. but instead they limit it, I know if gas does go to $5 a gallon we will still pay it. But if you see a freight train coming you get off the tracks right? As the worlds most prosperous nation that pours $$$ literally into their pockets they would cut us a break. Oh but they dont have to! because we cant get it any where else...The US has cut production also..WTF. right now in our so called rebound? just as we start to get back up we are being kicked in the rear.

Just sayin.

I heard on the news this morning that the Isreal has found a huge mega offshore oil field find that they drilled for! Its so big that they say it will disrupt the Middle East as being a major suppier to the USA! Lets just hope as they are our allies! In the mean time I'm glad I have my daily Camry commuter that yields 30+ highway MPS's!!!

I don't care what the price of gas is, I ain't walking.

Those brilliant treehugging libs in charge say we need to ween ourselves off foreign oil. Then they go and cut our production and limit our production of all sorts of petro fuel.

They are in Big Oil's (OPEC) back pocket more than Bush ever was.

The largest known oil reserve runs from just offshore of Brazil to our shores. The oil rig that blew up in the Gulf was on this reserve. The oil that Venezuela drills for is also on this same reserve. The oil that it yields is of the sweet variety which costs far less to refine. The crap we get from the Arab countries is full of sulfur and costs more to refine. The price of gas is due to yer Gov't at work. We could be off of foreign oil in 2 years but the greed in DC is not going to let it happen. Not when you have the dimwits pointing to global warming being caused by our fuel usage. This kinda goes with the $1500.00 Cresent wrench the Gov't was buying to fix commodes. You don't really think they're that stupid? It's all about the money and the power. And for those of you that voted for change, that's about all anybody will have left after these morons get finished bending us over.

Gas prices are killing me. I paid $3.45 for a gallon of regualr gas yesterday. I have seen some other gas stations on the $3.60 range. I guess thats one of the negatives of living in CA.

$ 3.099 for 87 here in Las Vegas. I am curious as to why the rising prices have not been given much press.
