Well I think the legal driving age should be 21...even though I was zipping around when I was 17.

The older I get, the higher the legal driving age should be, I think.

At this point, I think 30 would be a good age to allow a learners permit to be issued.

Have fun and be safe with your ride, Shawn!

And the more old farts I see on the highways, driving 45mph in a 70mph (in the fast lane!) while barely being able to see over the steering wheel of their Buick, the more I think there should be a RE-TEST administered at the age of 70 years old.

Sorry, nothing personal, just had to vent about something that this topic reminded me about.

Congrats Shawn. Enjoy your truck.

As I get older, I am getting slower. I now keep it at 70-75 on the highway. Got my license at 14 and was driving a delivery truck the day I got it.

Congrats Shawn. I'm old but I still remember the feeling of freedom getting that driver's license. I have a 16 year old that gets his full license in a few months, then he'll be in charge of the F-150.

I do think they should begin testing people over 60 or 65 with a new road test every time they get renewed.

Of course, most of the road tests are a joke anyway. The should have various levels of licensing A, B, C, etc. If you are an A you can drive anywhere any time. If you are a B you are restricted from Interstates. If you are a C you may only drive bumper cars at the fair with an adult A license sitting next to you.

That isn't an age issue, that's a stupidity issue, and they should be cited for impeding traffic or failure to keep right, whatever is appropriate.

Road tests should be administered randomly with every renewal, regardless of age, but that costs money, and we all love paying taxes to support that kind of thing, right?

That's one tax I wouldn't mind paying

Enjoy your license. I remember my first day. I felt like a outlaw since I didn't have another person in the vehicle with me. I just can't wait to get my other license (see siggy)
